QUOTE (dst @ Jul 6 2012, 08:31 PM) I really feel you think i'm an idiot when you post such irrelevant facts... I believe I'm being respectful when I'm talking to you so I don't know why you're doing it but I'll answer anyway.
First of all, Barcelona had three players playing for that Spain's first XI (namely, Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol). Do three players constitute a football team? No. So there goes that.
Most importantly though, Pep did not take over "after Spain won the Euros". In fact, he took over when Barcelona had finished THIRD in La Liga the previous season, some 15 points behind RM! They also lost Ronaldinho and Deco that summer and they added no other attacking player. That's not awful but he surely did not took over at the best of times. I'll keep it short as I am on my phone. No I don't think you're an idiot, you made it sound like Barca had a real bad team before he took over is all. I do believe in addition by subtraction and Ronaldinho when not playing well makes it feel like you're playing with about 9 men at times. They also got rid of other poor performers like Thuram and Zambrotta whilst adding Piqué and Alves. He had a much better team than the previous season in my opinion, plus Messi wasn't a kid and Xavi was now in his prime.

Nah I don't think he had a bad team when he went there but I don't think it was great either. And surely, the team that he made was much different than the one he received, not only in the players in it, I mean the way they played and their attitude.

So basically he has now realized Milan needs a Pirlo. Just one season after he let go of him without thinking twice. Great.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Jul 7 2012, 12:30 PM) ---creative---

----creative---- I hope that isn't what Allegri meant. Sahin is much better as LCM than AM, and Boateng is much better as AM than LCM/RCM(b2b). edit II: by the way, may I add Sahin would be an amazing signing? QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jul 7 2012, 01:26 PM) So basically he has now realized Milan needs a Pirlo. Just one season after he let go of him without thinking twice. Great. Allegri said wanting Montolivo in front of the defense, and Sahin playing more advanced. Pirlo wanted only to play in front of the defense, that is his position, so it's still not someone like Pirlo he wants. Obviously it is someone creative, what Pirlo is, he wants and what we need badly. edit I: or were you referring to Montolivo? In that case, Montolivo is defensively stronger than Pirlo. Allegri found Pirlo defensively too weak to play in front of the defense.

An attacking Milan for against average opponents: Boateng Sahin, Montolivo, Nocerino A more balanced Milan for against top opponents: Boateng Sahin, Ambrosini, Montolivo (I also am not hopeful about Sahin. I think he really wants to stay with Real, and then well, too bad for us.)

Your thinking of the old system where you have the ball winner in front of the defence and the creative mids surrounding him. The new style of system I think he's going for is much more dynamic. In the sense that our 2 Center midfielders will be the ones doing the work as were most likely going to pressure higher. Right now our biggest problem is that we have 2 strikers, which for the most time don't defend. We cannot put a midfield behind them that doesn't defend either, especially in the core of it. I think hes realising that or I hope hes realising that. You need more than just Ibra to win.
