Cracker from Rooney. United still need 2 in 10 mins.

Don't think that's gonna happen though.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Mar 15 2012, 08:30 PM) *
Bye-bye United. Glad to see them out. If only Napoli had done the same Bilbao's been doing now.

United were shockingly bad imo. But the fact that it's EL has to factor into it. They wouldn't have played so badly had it been a last 16 CL tie.

Napoli's defending is something entirely different. They should spend the next month practicing defending set-pieces in training

Udine out as well. Bummer, and Italy had such hope for a better showing in Europe, now only one quarter finalist in the CL and no EL participants

City also struggling now. Balo just smashing the ball out of the ground a couple of minutes ago.

Edit: Just as I was posting this, Balo gives away a stupid free-kick which Sporting score from and now him and Mancini exchanging words. And people want him here...

And it's 0-2. Good to see both Manchester sides out IMO.

Well, we all knew Udine won't make it. Italian clubs really need to push on. I don't get why clubs battle all season long for a EL spot, and then give it away like it's the least important thing in the world in a heartbeat.

United were shockingly bad imo.

I don't agree. I thought Athletic were just that good. Even in the 90th minute they had 2 players chasing down De Gea when he had the ball, the most incredible work rate I've ever seen by a team over the 2 legs.

It was a combination of both imo. The defending and just the general play from United was bad, and not what I expect from them. Although this season they have been far from anywhere near the level they have played at in recent years

Nothing personal against the EPL, but boy do I wish Chelsea were out too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif) I'm not sure when was the last time this happened, but a whole bunch of English side would have been eliminated from Europe before the quarter finals. I can't recall this since a decade, and probably won't happen for another decade either.

Next year, I'm sure all the English sides are going to come out stronger, so damn you Napoli. Damn you to the place of no return. This was once in while opportunity for the record books.

Schalke with a great comeback against Twente, 3-1. Huntelaar should have made it four.

He does. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Huntelaar hatrick, 4-1 Schalke in the 83rd minute. Brilliant striker.

City 3-2 by the way too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleepysmiley03.gif) Balotelli with one and Aguero with two. Thrilling stuff.

Hart with a last second header from a corner, that beat the keeper, and just went centimeters wide. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Would really have been something had it gone in. Oh well, stuff happens. At least Schalke go through!

Hart almost scored (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) FT 3-2.

Gotta give it to english teams, they never give up.
