Good win, looks like we're going to have to hope on the luck of the draw though. Any 'bad' teams going to win their group?

Defensively, we're becoming better with every match, though Auxerre were quite pathetic themselves. Instead, we played like crap up forward. Most opportunities we had were accidental. Thank god Pirlo will be coming back next game, cause we won't live much longer with that midfield. Too bad Allegri will show his incompetence and bench a really good Flamini instead of a ridiculous Gattuso. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Shakhtar and Lyon could be a good draw. Bayern and United are aslo beatable this year. There's even a chance that Spurs might win their group.

But knowing our luck, we'll probably get Chelsea or Barcelona. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Allegri: 'An important result'

Massimiliano Allegri is celebrating qualification, Ronaldinho’s goal and a Milan clean sheet.

“I’m glad for Ronaldinho, as it wasn’t easy for him to come on and make an impact in the final minutes,” said the Coach after a 2-0 win in Auxerre.

The Brazilian has been dropped for five official games in a row, but came off the bench to net.

“We all understood that in order to achieve certain results, we all need to sacrifice ourselves and work hard.
The team realised that quickly and it’s going well in Serie A and the Champions League.”

However, there must be concerns that Zlatan Ibrahimovic always has to break the deadlock with a moment of magic, especially as he complained of exhaustion.

“It would be tricky without Ibrahimovic, as we don’t have someone of the same characteristics,” confessed Allegri.

“We could play Ronaldinho and Robinho together for a side with great technique, but less physical presence.

“This qualification gives us strength and it is an important night for us. I am also very glad that we kept a clean sheet for the third time.

“We are solid, don’t allow our opponents much and create at least four or five clear-cut chances per game.”

Ibrahimovic hails Ronaldinho

Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits he was exhausted by the end of the Auxerre match and hailed teammate Ronaldinho.
“We tried to score throughout this difficult game and Auxerre were aggressive, but at the end we won 2-0,” said the Milan hitman.

“I scored a great goal and the team did well, so now we can relax for the final match.

“I was very tired at the end and was making too many mistakes, so I asked to be substituted. Ronaldinho came on and scored, so it all worked out.”

Ronaldinho has been benched for the last five games on the trot in all competition, but made an impact in only five minutes on the field.

“The whole team is very happy for Ronaldinho. He isn’t playing much, but he works hard in training and we are all behind him.”

The Rossoneri are now qualified for the knock-outs, but they are in second place behind Real Madrid.

This means the side they face in the next round will be the winners of a group.

“Every game makes us stronger and whoever we face will be worried. We play our football, that is all.”

He probably thought he had to after everyone practically labelled him a racist for saying he prefers playing with Pippo better.

I have a hunch that after Allegri's statement, we might see Ronaldinho and Robinho starting together against Sampdoria with Ibra on the bench.

yeah just pissed that starting next year were going to have to get 2nd place if we want direct entry into champions league. Makes Italian league worst and more in debt.
