QUOTE (Zed.D @ Sep 16 2010, 04:30 PM) FINALLY Kurt has someone to agree with him on this issue (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) it's easy for you to say that cause you're European, your country borders Italy (am I right?) etc. but if someone is born to Chinese parents in Italy, do you think of them as Italian? really? That shouldn't be a fact to determine what you are. There's a bigg difference between Citizenship and Nationality. For ex. I'm Citizen of Kosovo but I'm Albanian. X-Off lives in Italy so it's Citizen of Italy but his parents are Albanian (I guess). So that makes him Albanian. What X-Off is talking about is something I call assimiliation.

If someone with Chinese parents and a Chinese appereance is born and raised in Italy, he speaks Italian as child as his first language, Italian is what he knows the best, Italian culture is what he knows the best, Italy is where he has lived all his live. China he never or rarely has been to, he don't know much about China. Someday someone says to him you can't be Italian because your parents weren't Italian! Say what now? Or: you can't be Italian because you don't look like us! Say what now? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I believe that's cruel and dare I say racist? Italy has been your country all your life but then others say you aren't because of appereance or your parents. That's sounds awfully wrong to me. Now he can't play for Azzurri but instead he should play for China where he possibly never has been to? Maybe he doesn't even speaks Chinese! But still: don't play for Italy, go all the way to China instead! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) You don't belong here! You are different! QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 16 2010, 05:48 PM) I don't actually live in Italy, I'm here for studies. This is my third and probably last year. My home is in Albania. And you call your self Italian (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) ? Sorry for being such an "arrigo-sacchi", but I found that wrong and I neeeded to tell you (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Sep 16 2010, 05:50 PM) If someone with Chinese parents and a Chinese appereance is born and raised in Italy, he speaks Italian as child as his first language, Italian is what he knows the best, Italian culture is what he knows the best, Italy is where he has lived all his live. QUOTE (X-Offender @ Sep 16 2010, 05:55 PM) Huh, when did I call myself Italian? I said if I was born and raised all my life in Italy, I would call myself an Italian. I was merely pointing out an example. I could have easily said French or Spanish instead. Oh, there's an if (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . I thought you were born and raised in Italy ... QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Sep 16 2010, 05:58 PM) d'Arc himself actually came with Italy as example (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But why do you care so much how someone feels what he is, d'Arc? I have a question for you: what is someone with a father of Norway, a mother of Denmark, and himself is borned and raised in Finland? Nor-Den-Fin (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Well he would be citizen of Finland and his nationality would be Norwegian or how do you call people of Norway OR he is what he FEEL he is. (it's between Norway and Denmark)

And what if he feels Finnish? Ok I'm not very good english speaker so maybe I made an error. By nationality I mean race... Race is determined by the origin of your bloodline. I looked in the dictionary and I saw that nationality was not the right word to use or maybe it was, IDK (IMG: style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) . About the question. Nationality or race or whatever that is and I want to say (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) , is about lifestyle, culture, language etc ... (I hope you know what I mean :$ ) X-Off translate the word "KOMB" for me please (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Is it about nationality or race? --------- Why i picked father before mother ? I don't want to answer this question, we are already talking Off Topic.
