QUOTE (acid911 @ May 8 2014, 07:24 PM) I know, but still. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I'd always prefer him than the old hag that went in just because he is chums with their coach. Injuries, form, all things considered, Gomez for me will always be a better player and offer more than Klose. It might be futile, but I'm still hopeful of Portugal tearing Germany a new one in the group stage match. Nah man, this is where we'll just have to disagree. For me Gomez is a limited player. Technically he sucks, he's not fast and is not 100% prolific like Inzaghi. Klose is much better all around. QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 8 2014, 08:11 PM) Khedira hasn't played a whole lot either but still got selected. True that.

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And him not going to the World Cup, in many ways, hurt more than Kaka not landing a spot. But at the end of the day, it's all shticks and giggles, just a fudging game. It's not like these guys are curing cancer, or altering the course of history. Unless they are curing cancer and altering the course of history in their spare time. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif) Then it's awesome!

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 12 2014, 05:04 PM) Engand squad isn't all that strong as we lack quality. Only decisions I'm not happy with are Smalling and Jones going, they're so awful. hmm, I was looking through the selections, strange calls in defence, but I guess there isn't that much choice. Cahill the only good one I'd actually want playing in my team. FBs aren't anything to write home about either. Johnson is a bit of a defensive liability

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 12 2014, 05:50 PM) Shaw and Baines are both very, very good. So much so even Cole missed out. Shame one of them isn't right footed. Yeah, but as you said, both are left sided players. With Baines most likely getting the nod to start on most occasions But for the right Johnson is pretty much the only option. With Cahill and maybe one of the average Man U boys in the middle I don't think it's a good enough defence at this level.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 12 2014, 08:24 PM) My guess would be... Hart
Johnson - Jagielka - Cahill - Baines
Wilshire - Gerrard
Sturridge - Lallana - Sterling
Rooney Hart has had a bad year, Johnson is awful, Jagielka is a step down from what we've had in previous tournaments. The 3 behind Rooney could go either way, all young and hungry players but inexperienced at this level. I mean from midfield onward it looks pretty good, exciting even, but defence is an issue. And whether that works on the pitch is another thing altogether. Especially considering England's history is such tournaments I was watching this earlier Clicky, in the spirit of the upcoming WC 50% of it related to England screwing up one way or another and the guys throwing in the comments always had one excuse or another for who cost them this or that world cup. Going by how they talk, England should be the rightful owners of many world cup titles which they were cheated out of (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
