So SAF talked about a restriction that coaches in England have and they can only coach youngsters for one and a half hour every day... what the f*** is that all about, am I missing something? It sounds as random as restricting team staff with non-black cars to park outside the team's facilities... seriously, what am I missing, why is that restriction there?
It has nothing to do with education or there chances of making it.
Also its not a rule in just england, the UK, Canada and the United States follow it as well.
The reasons behind the rule is that new research came out saying that kids who are trained 2 hours every session in comparison to 1.5 hours have alot higher chances of developing injuries.
Also they say after the 1.5 hour mark, kids don't have the capacity to concentrate and be effective in the practice. Basically their mind begins to wander they become careless and get hurt.
Basic practice structures follow this guideline:
15 minutes warm up
45 minutes of drills (tactical, technical etc..)
20 minutes of game (scrimage, 7v7 etc)
10 minutes of cool down
---
now why is SAF complaining about this? Its because we take this to heart literly. Its just a guideline for structured practice.
Yes kids are supposed to only be "coached" for an 1.5 hour 4x a week(3 prac and 1 game) but we take this literally. So instead of kids going to practice and then going outside after and playing a pick up game with freinds (like it was in the past), they go home and do other things.
So they suffer technically in comparison to kids from other countries who do go outside after practice and hone their abilities on the streets.
