I'd be very hard pressed to find another of his era of similar stature...only Puyol who was less of a defender but more charismatic and offered a bit more in attack. The defensive greats of the second decade of this millenium are laughable in comparison.....with guys like Ferdinand, Vidic, Pique and Terry considered elite is there any wonder why guys like Rooney, CR7 and Messi are setting scoring records everywhere? |

Even Collovati wasn't that good. We were privileged to witness this great run which sadly ends with Nesta. |
