its funny how he starts for liverpool then isn't it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Ferdinand is not worldclass? How can you even say that. If we had more epl fans in this forum, you would get chewed out so fast.

Kuyt starts for Liverpool... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) x2

Ferdinand is world class when he does not make mistakes... but one can't just ignore the fact that he does make them...

Considering he hasn't played much football this season, he's made some high profile mistakes. One in the Manchester derby, in the 90th minute, to allow them to make it 3-3, then for England against Ukraine. Matt Upson is better.

Milannews is reporting that the exams on Nesta showed only a strained muscle and no tear. So he'll sit out against Parma but should be available midweek against Real.

Fishdoll is relieved.

Not to mention the one he made against Liverpool the other week...

Imo, the top defenders out there would be

Nesta
Puyol
Vidic
Terry

I think these 4 guys are in a league of their own. Nesta even when not at his best would still get on any first 11, he just has that grace about him on the pitch, he's very skillful for a CB and imo can read the game better then any other defender, that's why he's still excelling even while he's not at the peak of his game

I think Nesta's on the ball ability is what puts him ahead of most. Of the 4 that you named, hes the only one that has it. Vidic, Terry and Puyol are more of the classic 'get your head to the ball even if it means you get your face kicked' type player.

I think Puyol is very good with the ball on his feet and very solid going forward when he plays at RB/LB.

You don't have to 'think', it's an obvious fact. the guy can even dribble sometimes. he's Spanish.

Really? I find him very clumsy whenever I see him with the ball. Nowhere near the standard of Nesta.

You really believe this? I don't think there's a coach crazy enough to sub Nesta at Napoli at any point of the game. I don't think this is the reason why he does not play against Parma either, they'd just say he had recovered or that he'll play despite the pain...

Clumsy yeah but he does the job more than alright. Nesta looks classy and calm on the ball but he can't play the flank.

To put Nesta on the flank would be an insult imo, he's just to good of a CB to ever concider wasting him on the flanks.

I remember his first ever game, he played as a RB and he ruined the offside trap twice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
