calciomercato writes that Carlo will leave if we don't buy Alex with Eto'o or Adebayor! It looks like something big will happen. I would rather see Mexes than Alex but even Alex will be a great feinforcement for our defense.

The calciomercato piece quotes an article in Gazzetta (link ) in which it's stated that Carlo's made his demands and that he's no longer willing to accept compromises or have players he doesn't want (ie, Shevchenko and Ronaldinho forced on him).

However, he will be extremely cheap for us and who knows he could develop into a great goalkeeper. He has 99 saves, and 9 clean sheets in 27 games. Abbiati has 28 games, 11 clean sheets and 107 saves. In my opinion, he has very good stats.
