My online buddy said that he saw Carletto watch Arsenal vs Hull City last night on TV, is that true ?? If it's true, does anyone know what the purpose ??
*maybe a barter between Yoann with Fabregas ??

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Mar 17 2009, 01:10 PM) I never saw van Basten play, I was too young. But I find some players from the past are often over-rated and because you can't compare to players around now, people will just say they were nowhere near as good as *past players name here*. I was watching the Madrid-Frankfurt European Cup final the other day, the quality of football was quite embarassing really. You mean the final of 1960? Of course football was totally different back then. But I don't think it has anything to do with the individual skills of the players. It's just that the sport itself was much less fast as it is nowadays.

According to Gazzetta, Marchetti's agent will meet Milan reps tomorrow.

Yes, but it's transfer stuff. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Galliani speaks in code about transfers (in other words, it's never wise to take him literally when transfer discussions are being made). The categorical denial half makes me think they're for sure going to get a keeper.

For what it's worth, milannews seems to think the Cruz deal is looking like it may just happen. He'd come to the red-and-black half of Milan on a free.

I haven't seen enough of Keirrison to know if he'd be any good so can't comment. The kneejerk 'old players all suck, we must sign teenagers' thing is getting a little old, though. Not all teenagers live to the potential they show and not all young transfers are successful ones (ie, Grimi). Not a big fan of Cruz because he plays for the cugini, but he's a very effective striker.

I think there are a lot more (and more detailed) explanations for why milan is currently not 20 points out in first than 'old players'. Cruz IS a temporary replacement, yes. His year or two at Milan will give Paloschi time to mature nicely. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) That's what I'd like to see happen. Would prefer to see some other young players with experience in Italy brought in too - either the ones we (at least partially) own (ie, Abate) or some we don't (ie, Marchetti, Criscito). This would lessen any adjustment time to the league that the team would face if it imported players from other countries. It's taken Flamini, for example, a good 6 months to really get used to stuff here - and now he looks really good. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
