Kaka is still pretty young and still has market value, something that the others that "shouldn't be on the team" lack.

Personally, I think his sale was inevitable because of his slump in form over the past two seasons coupled with his high $175K-a-week wages. He was clearly getting burned out here and change of scenery was definitely in the cards somewhere down the line; Milan just merely expedited the process.

We'd have a much harder time moving the lesser guys, anyway, which some don't seem to understand.

The only good kaka's sale did us is the 65 million in the bank and the 9 million reduction from our wage bill. Footballing wise, we have decreased severely in terms of team skill. Kaka is a difference maker and can change a game on his own. Whether he is injured or not on form, he still was one of our key players that was essential to the side functioning, like pirlo is.

Can't say Milan will really get the footballing world talking in terms of this transfer though.

Anyone seen enough of him to make a good judgement? He looked reasonable against Man United in the CL, that's all I've seen of him though.

Report: Milan Sign Aly Cissokho From Porto

According to ilsussidiario.net, Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the "very difficult" negotiations with Porto for defender Aly Cissokho ended well "thanks to the friendship with the Porto president".

The Rossoneri will pay the Portuguese side €15 million for the services of the young full-back, who can play both on the left and right flank, with the possibility of also playing as a winger when needed.

There should not be any problems with the 21-year-old's contract, as Milan offered him four times more what he currently earns at Porto.

In fact, the Rossoneri will offer him a four-year deal at €1m per season. This sum obviously enticed the player greatly and allowed the former Champions League winners to beat the competition of Olympique Lyon.

In the meantime, Milan continue their assault on Wolfsburg for their striker Edin Dzeko, who is valued at around €30m, which the Italian club consider to be too high as they can at most offer €20m plus the loan of full-back Massimo Oddo.

No idea about him, we'll have to wait until Porty talks. But....

Football clubs aren't profitable business's and have never been. In the past, when berlusconi needed Milan, he bankrolled Milan and there wasn't a problem but now he no longer needs Milan for popularity and so the club has been left to struggle on it's own. Perhaps he should just sell Milan to someone who has the clubs best interest at heart!?!?!

I don't think you're understanding the concept of this at all. I'm not talking about getting high transfer fees for selling these players. I'm talking about getting these players off our wage billls, which is our biggest problem. Kaka earned a high wage but he merited all that he was given. These players who have become mediocre at best and nearly earned as much as Kaka did is what's ridiculous.

Any mid table team in Serie A would jump at the chance to sign Seedorf, Ambro, Dida, Janku, Kaladze. But they're not good enough for Milan anymore, especially if they're not willing to accept the bench and take wage cuts.

We need to look ahead. Galliani says we're starting a new cycle? I don't believe that for a second as we've still got the major problems of the squad intact while we're getting rid of our best players one by one. It's ridiculous, and you've really got to start questioning their motives with the moves they're mayking.

You say Kaka has declined? I agree, but you also cannot overlook the fact that even if he has been playing like cr@p on and off for the past 2 seasons we still played like headless chickes when he was not on the field. The fact that we relied on him so much is what we have to look at here. Kaka's form? The Milan medical staff practically ruined Kaka, he was playing when he was injured 75% of the time, he was always pushed into games before recovering because we needed him so much.

Anyone can say what they want about this transfer. On the financial aspect I think Milan did a good deal, he's going to turn 28, soon he'll hit 30. He isn't the player he used to be just a short couple of months ago. The sum we got for him is justifiable taking all of this into account. But when looking at it from the footballing aspect, I think it was a major mistake. Who are we going to find that can replace Kaka and do what he did for us? We've lost the player that has single handedly draged this team on for the better part of 3 years no matter what form or fitness state he is in.

I think he's pretty good, better then Janku that's for sure. We needed something better in that left back position and I think we got it. We still need another CB though, lets wait see...

I don't think you're understanding the concept of this at all.

I don't think I ever will, either, since I'm in the distant minority here in regards to the Kaka issue. I think I'll just quit talking about it altogether.

He's got balls i'll give him credit for that. But we'll need far more than some random LB and Dzeko for us to be competitive again so I hope he doesn't stop there.
