The game had been moved to Friday evening to give Milan time to prepare for next Tuesday's Champions League semi-final against Barcelona in the same San Siro stadium. It was the unlikely figure of the Georgian defender who finally broke the deadlock of what had been an absorbing encounter between the city rivals, where not an inch of space was conceded. Kaladze has become a key figure in the heart of the defence, developing an unbeatable partnership alongside Alessandro Nesta in the absence of the injured Poalo Maldini. The captain returned for the derby but at left-back, with Marcos Cafu at right-back. I can´t believe that the person that I wanted off the team is now a world-class defender. After his brothers funeral and his new position, CB, he has improved more and more. I can´t believe that we were thinking of selling this guy to Chelsea.
