Ancelotti Responds To Degrading Napoli Comments
Carlo Ancelotti’s Milan defeated Napoli 1-0 at the San Siro last night and following the contest, the Rossoneri boss had some words for the Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis.

At the completion of the Milan-Napoli contest, the visiting President claimed that his side had “played an extraordinary match of football, and had it not been for the own goal by Denis, then Milan would not have won.”

De Laurentiis continued by claiming that, “Milan looked nervous and very poor at times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) and we tried to take full advantage of this, but we failed to capitalize where it counted.”

In response to such degrading comments, Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti made it clear that the Partenopei supremo simply got his “adjectives wrong” when describing Milan's performance.

“We certainly were the better team on the night and not only because we won the match. We played with a positive attitude over the ninety minutes, and we were less nervous than they were, because we played with great concentration and attention throughout the game.”

Milan cruised to the top of the standings as a result of the victory, while Napoli are now two points adrift in fourth spot after 10 rounds of football.

Now you know why I hate this darn club. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) They've got the never to come out and tell us we were very poor, when on the contrary I failed to see a single spell of constant attack for 5 or more minutes from them.

Great win! We were the better team and I dare to disagree that the red card helped us grab 3 points. Napoli defended with like 6 players and it wasn't very successful. If it wasn't for Iezzo /the guy should be ours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) /, 3:0 would've been the final score. And let's not forget Pato's incredible miss. A fluke goal or not, we achieved our goal. Our next games are not all that difficult and we could be heading to the winter break, Serie A leaders.

Gattuso was MOM. His most impressive performance since Milan-United 3:0 /not that we've had many great games since then, but this is Gattuso!/. Zambro and Janku did great too. Favalli was surprisingly calm while Ambro is definetely disappointing lately. Ricky did well.

I very nearly thought we weren't going to win this, considering, Kaka hitting the post and missing a penalty, Pato missing a sitter and the goal line clearance. We are winning by not playing well, so i am optimistic for the future when players return. After the atrocious start we had, i never would have thought we would be top table after 9-10 rounds. Lets hope the players and coaches keep their focus for the rest of the season, so we can give Maldini the send off he deserves, one last final Scudetto

I think it's his confidence and concentration in bigger games that he should work on, not his headers. he has scored some pretty header in his short career and even last game hit the post with a precise header, etc. actually I think for a Brazilian, he's too good at headers! last night's miss was the result of a momentary lapse of concentration...

I don't think we've really missed anyone - maybe Nesta but only in the beginning. We will surely improve though and if Ronaldinho and Sheva reach top form we will be extra strong.

We were at home, Napoli 10 men, missed penalty,
and a fluke goal.

I would have to agree, which is why it's hard to be completely overjoyed about the end result.

Yeah, but will he give Sheva the chance to regain his form? I'm really not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

He looked good when he came on against Siena last Wednesday. Hopefully he'll get a full 90 minutes on Thursday against Braga and score a goal. It will do wonders for his confidence to score in the San Siro where the fans seem to have accepted him back with open arms

Speaking of Sheva, does any of you happen to notice fans's reaction when he plays? I still don't know how his return was accepted. I think I heard fans singing his songs in the Siena game, but I really wonder whether... let's say 90 % of the San Siro crowd still loves him. If you're not connected with San Siro, you're doomed. Just ask Gila.

Sheva is one of us and I can't wait until he becomes the goal machine once again. Carlong being mad at him is a good theory. He was the one, convincing Sheva to stay in a more.. "passionate" way /+ Berlu of course/.

Oddly enough, I just saw this. Sheva was at a Brigate meeting recently so things seem to have been smoothed over with the curva. (IMO probably because Kristen is nowhere to be seen in Milan).
