I see where Fillipo is coming from. Cannavaro is starting to get criticised (and is looking quite poor) in Spain, yet when he comes back to play for La Nazionale, he's fine. They don't appreciate good defenders over there.

Nevertheless, Habitant is correct. Rebuilding does not involved signing a 37 year old who was dropped by his national coach mid way through a tournament.

Serie A defenders can't succeed in such a fast-paced league. Cannavaro also has been pure shite most of times there. if you watch some Real Madrid games you will understand why they criticize him. it's not that they criticize defenders just for fun.

They do not appreciate defense in general. The majority of the games in Spain get so mad and anarchic at some point that I think I'm watching kids play.

To be a good different in Spain you need to be fast, Cannavaro is not anymore and also need think directly. Cannavaro is used to reading the game and stop a move before it happens but Spanish football is not about doing the unexpected, it's about directness and doing the simple thing faster than you can move to stop it so he gets lost in his thoughts...

Oh please...when Galliani says that it usually means the usual 2-year negotiation will start now... darn.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

He's gonna drop every big name, say we approached them and that the price was impossible for Milan.

It's summer for sure. Galliani has already gone over this. Further news indicates we've dumped the idea of Thiago Silva and are going for Sao Paulo player Joao Miranda.

tribal claims Silva's going to Villareal, since Villareal themselves are selling their current CB-I don't know who. Hardly follow football, outside of the internet news nowadays..

He said the same thing in the summer, "a great defender". We ended up with Phillipe Senderos......

The name being mentioned today on calciomercato is Philippe Mexes. No clue as to reliability.

Suggestions for Rino replacements/midfield reinforcements are almost certain to follow in coming days.

i don't like mexes..he is easily exposed in the air, and in europe. a good defender for the roma/fiorentina type.

i'm also going to be a little disappointed if thiago silva is our maldini replacement and miranda is our nesta replacement. Are the two best defender prospects in the world really BOTH from Brazil?

and i hope we don't sign a "rino" replacement. we don't need another DM. unless its veloso, who can do more than just the rino role.
