Giovinco must be pretty upset right now... and tired... that's a long plane trip...

That formation seems pretty depleted... Pasquato and Amauri? No Del Piero either. If I read right.

I hope Juve plays Chimenti that's a guaranteed losing situation. You thought Kalac was bad lol...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I still remember the 05/06 match at the San Siro. He was all over the place, Seedorf and Pirlo's goals were hilarious

i hear Kalac is going to play one game. Maybe he wants to save what little reputation he has left?

Has he? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) He's a good backup option when your first choice gets injured or misses matches. He's always been such. Would I still have him in Milanelo? Yes. But as just that. A good backup option.

You don't have to look that far back... just look a few days ago... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Chimenti committed some major mistakes...

Anyways, I see this friendly tournament as more of a chance for us to test out youth. I hope that Cardacio and Viudez maybe start...

Yeah but anytime someone mentions Chimenti that game springs to mind

Carlo confirmed in his press conference that Cardacio will be starting, as for Viudez hopefully he'll at least get a full 45 minutes

That's very important for the guy. Two Uruguayos playing against an Argentine backed team (Napoli)... shall be exciting... some rivalry there...

QUOTE
THE NAPLES TOURNAMENT WITH THE HOME TEAM AND JUVENTUS
"Tomorrow evening we shall see some lads as we already have various players with their national teams. We have the opportunity to play some young players like Darmian and to give more minutes in the legs of those who in August played less, like Inzaghi, Brocchi and Antonini. Indications can arrive also from these games. Darmian will play one half as a central defender and one as a full-back. Dida will play one half whereas Kalaz will play the other half in goal. In defence we shall surely have Darmian, Favalli and Antoni, then we shall choose between Albertazzi and Pasini. In midfield there will be Cardacio, Brocchi and Ambrosini, whereas in attack Seedorf, Paloschi and Inzaghi. Ambrosini will play the first game as a midfielder, then we shall see. Tomorrow we shall face an opponent we respect like Juventus, but the most important thing will be the crowd. The Naples stadium will be packed and there will be great enthusiasm. It's fair that the Napoli fans can watch a good show. The motivations are there and are adequate for the night."

RECOVERED PLAYERS AND COMEBACKS
"Today Emerson had his first training session with the group. He's fine, but it's still early to play him. It's best that right now he makes a bit more of work. Nesta has resumed training and is working on his own. Ronaldinho? After the Olympics he will return to Milanello, this is confirmed. Brazil disappointed a bit against Argentina. Pato played a bit less, whereas Ronaldinho had to endure the difficulties of the entire team to play at certain rhythms."

THE TRANSFER MARKET
"The news on Shevchenko are not official. So far he is still a Chelsea player. The recovery of the players? We are used to face the challenges, sometimes it went all well, other times a bit less. It depends from the motivations which the players have when they come here, but at Milan the players' management has never been a problem. The defender? Now we start to recover the players: on Sunday Kaladze and Maldini will be back and we can breathe again. In any case against Juventus the defence did well, even with the absent players. Ivanovic? He's not for sale according to Chelsea. In any case, in general, it's not certain that Shevchenko arrives and it's not certain that the market is closed if Shevchenko arrives."

Team composition makes sense for the friendly...so no CB coming in? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Hard to say atm Jack. Carlo is being very vague with his words. On one hand he's saying that it's not certain that Sheva may arrive and on the other he's saying that it's not certain that Milan's mercato would closed if Sheva does arrive.

I think if the Sheva deal does happen (still skeptical over the whole thing myself) then that's the final EU slot occupied. So our options are limited. The talk of the Standardo Brocchi switch with Lazio has died down, but I'm hoping that this is the one that happens, Standardo is a good defender not great but solid, I think he's better then Kovac and he's a really tall physical player something we haven't had in our defence since Stam left. Plus it would mean getting rid of Brocchi which I'm all for

Napoli have just as many Uruguayans (if not more).
