I was watching the delayed game on Milanchannel and I was shocked with the way they played. Sure this is only a friendly , but its never good to lose with scores like 0-5. Not playing CL doesnt mean we'll win the scudetto for sure.

I think Milan should reconsider ending their transfer market.

Thanks for posting this, Ten, but as far as Carlo is concerned, it's just the same shtick, different day. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I remember the last few months of our league campaign last season, it almost feels like cut and paste: Bad blow, move on, hope, nothing to salvage, look forward, can't complain, work, solve every problem, concentrated, careful, can't give away so much, unfortunately.

For the coach, these are standard words. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) We'll have to do a lot better than this. A lot.

The only defense for this result is that English teams are better prepared than Italian teams at the moment. You have to imagine that the English season starts in less than 2 weeks, while Serie A doesn't start for a month, so the Chelsea players will have been much more match fit.

I didn't see the game.

That said, I'm not sure one can defend the result in any way. It was just plain embarrassing - ridiculous team selection (Zambrotta AND Janku in midfield, Ambro as striker, Seedorf and Paloschi both on the bench until well into th esecond half), embarrassingly sloppy defending, poor goalkeeping, poor...everything.

I'm generally one of the more optimistic souls on this board, but the only positive I can take from today is that the game is OVER. Hopefully the players (and their coach) are good and mad about how badly they humiliated themselves and they'll stop playing around. It'd be really hard to bear if they go down like this to Man City.

Chelsea are a far superior team in every position on the pitch. What was Ancelotti thinking playing this formation.

THink about it we played most of our defensive players on the pitch and they couldn't contain Chelsea or do anything. It looked like a bunch of amatuers.

The key with Milan is overconfidence in themselves. Sure we didn't have our starting 11 but it shows how ineffective we are without starters on the pitch. Whereas teams like Chelsea don't have bench players every one of those guys could be starting.

We have players in the Olympics but there is no reason we should be getting beat 5-0 by any team especially when we are playing all our defenders.

Maldini and Ambrosini should retire because they are a joke, regardless of how great overall Maldini is to the game, he doesn't have the magic anymore and Milan's defense is getting more pitiful each year.

Just because we got Flamini and Ronaldinho doesn't mean we have the scudetto won, who cares what all these commentaries suggest.

That's a little bit harsh. Ambrosini is considered by many one of our best [I'm not his biggest fan when he becomes our striker though!] and while Maldini might not be up to the task anymore [I think he's still is if he has to play one game a week], his presence will always be a mental lift for this team. he's still a player more because of the latter reason, not the former. we need replacements for them, that's for sure, but we don't have to get rid of them... having depth is always good.

Anyway, the fact that we're going to start the season with this pathetic defense scare the **** out of me to be honest.

Theoretically both defence and offence are one purchase away from solidity. With Milan nowadays, theory has a method of landing on it's @ss flat, and then bouncing twice. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) We know the defence can play well. The Nesta-Kaladze combo has worked wonders before, and consistently too. It was since last season, that things turned topsy. I'd think since CBs are more difficult to purchase, we'd go with strikers.

Of course thing is once we make that purchase, suddenly Borriello, Kaka and whoever will be fighting fit. But when we don't, they pick one injury after the other.

With Pato and Dinho away, half the offence is on leave. Kaka is injured. Neither Paloschi or Borriello were meant to be relied on . Get Michael Owen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
