It also depends on the players. There are not only clubs with or without class, but also players. There is a certain profile of players that joins Chelsea and there is a one that does not do that with such ease.
When we speak about class, Milan is on top without any concurrention. Real and Barcelona? Especially not Barcelona. I'll never forget the fact that they've released most of their legends when they didn't fit into their expectations/system (like Ablardo, Segi, Guardiola, Amor, Zubi; Manolo Sanchis, Ivan Campo, etc.). Also, having Calderon and Mijatovic on helm of your club does not help. Still, Mijatovic is after all a former Real player, so,.. As for Kaka or Ronaldinho - simply said, I think that they're not so dumb to join the EPL. It would ruin them,... I think players in the German league are best suited to the EPL, guys that come over usually enjoy some success.
