Rooney's now wrecked, that injury will once again make him look lazy and lacking sharpness (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I don't see why Chelsea are suddenly hot favourites though they weren't exactly brilliant against an average Birmingham side, I'd say Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool looked far better this weekend.

QUOTE (Porty @ Aug 12 2007, 09:26 PM) Just think Chelsea need to improve A LOT to be Champs, specially in that flat 4-4-2 and that Liverpool squad is enough to be Champ - they've a better one than United last year. You're too quick to praise and you hate United a little bit too much!! ********* is nowhere near the level of last season's United and they're certainly not a championship team... they might do well in knock-out rounds but they are going to face a large spell of bad results sooner or later... well, I guess I hate those too quite a bit! Arsenal and Liverpool were playing against teams without a keeper. (And both won with a poor refereeing decision in the last few minutes). Newcastle were okay, it was more Bolton mistakes than them playing well that won them the game though. Man City were the best side for me, by a long way. Birmingham, average? Over-statement of the year. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I didn't see the Newcastle game so can't comment on how they did. But I agree with Kurt (shocking, neh?): the team whose performance most impressed me was easily Manchester City.

Fulham's goalie did very good in my opinion... what about Birmingham, all three of Chelsea's goals could have been saved! QUOTE (dst @ Aug 13 2007, 12:02 AM) Fulham's goalie did very good in my opinion... what about Birmingham, all three of Chelsea's goals could have been saved! Well. Reading, Villa and Fulham were all undoubtedly kept in the game through goalkeeping performances. But struggling to beat Reading and Fulham at home, regardless of how well the keeper plays, isn't acceptable. Liverpool won away, so it is a good result for them. And yes, Birmingham's keeper was awful. But Cech and Carvalho kept Birmingham in the game, they must have forgotten what team they were on. P.S. Chelsea broke the all-time unbeaten home streak in the league today, making it 64, beating Liverpool's record.

Does he walk around London like that!?? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Aug 13 2007, 03:10 AM) P.S. I don't think he wore it in the Community Shield, he must just think he looks cool or something. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) QUOTE (mchanna @ Aug 13 2007, 12:25 AM) wtf, arsenalistis?!?! They played 11-0-0, Anti-football... Picture says more than 1000 words: (IMG: http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44054000/jpg/_44054099_reading203.jpg) Yeah. Reading had 10 men behind the ball at ALL times. Chelsea would have won it 4-0. Lampard, Malouda and co. would have just hammered the ball towards the goal 50 times. United? Nah, they tried to play through it for some reason (They've caught Arsenalitis for sure!). Nani, Giggs and Ronaldo seem to have half a brain between them, they were putting in crosses for the giants Wayne Rooney to win. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) They had about 3 shots from outside the box, which is why they lost. As soon as Rooney went off it was almost game over, they didn't have a finisher on the park, which is what you need for a game like that. (IMG: http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/images/39808000/jpg/_39808001_ruud_brpen33.jpg) How they wish Ruud van Horse was still there.
