He is 18 year old soccer player in the U.S. It's hard for anybody to know him...

I've known Freddy Adu since he was about 13, Landon Donovan was very young when he first became noticed as well. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

80% of people here don't even know who the f@ck Freddy Adu is... 3 years ago when I was in high school, in our match practices (varsity team) kids wore all these jersey from Major European teams (Milan, Inter, Barca, Man U) and they didn't have the slightest idea about any of them...

During the World Cup, I was the only one who actually followed the U.S national team in our frat. And the ones that watched a couple of games were in it for the "insane tackles" (fouls)...

And the best part, when Juventus is playing, they wonder why there are bunch of referees running around in the field...

There might be a hype that soccer is becoming big here, but that's just horseshit. Cause at the end of the day, Americans don't get this sport. It's different growing up here for boys. Girls, yeah... That's their number one sport. But guys? I mean I go to the University of Minnesota, number 4 university in the country in terms of enrollment. We get major funding and attention for most of our teams, but when it comes to soccer? There is this guy who trains these people and if we can find a goalie, we might play some games... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

America doesn't need to discover soccer, they already did and said: Meh...

Well I know plenty of college teams with 'soccer' teams. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I disagree there. What makes you say the US 'discovered soccer' and didn't like it?

You make it sound like people over here know these teams. If I was to ask my mom if she knows ANY Milan player, she wouldn't. Alot of the female members of my family couldn't tell you who Scholes, Giggs or Ronaldo are. They've never heard of Madrid, Milan or many Premier League teams for that matter.

But even so, even if Americans don't know who Freddy Adu is, that doesn't mean anything. You ask people over here who Ben Gordon or Osi Umenyiora are over here, they're English and earn more than John Terry. But I bet AT LEAST 90% of people here don't know them, doesn't mean they don't like NFL or the NBA. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Fernando Torres just scored the first goal in Liverpool.
Against Shanghai. Benayoun amazing assist, and a class finish by El Nino. ( http://www.alexgodden.com/rawk/torresgoal1.mov.zip )

The match is for the Port of Rotterdam Tourney.

Not very big news or anything but..

Birmingham City have signed defender Liam Ridgewell from arch rivals Aston Villa for £2m.

Sounds about right, somebody that doesn't get in the Villa team is going to be starting for City. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

FT 2-0. Torres and Gerrard (what a goal).

Leiva and Leto played nice. But Benayoun showed some class today.
