QUOTE (dst @ Apr 11 2007, 08:37 PM)
Bravo Milan!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well Done!! Good game, we should have killed it earlier. Dida peed right into my face tonight!!!! (On a sidenote: We must play much better against United to stand a chance...)

I won't say anything to those who thought it was all over cause I don't wanna be an @sshole!!

Grazie Milan!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)
*

Hey man, you can tell me that you where right all you want. I LOVE it when I'm wrong at times like these (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (pKillerMax @ Apr 11 2007, 09:42 PM)
Yes he was offside but we had a perfect Gila goal in the first leg disallowed so...
*

Exactly. Things have been balanced out, and we might have been lucky on a couple of occasions today but we where terribly unlucky in the first, so again, things evened out over the 2 legs.

Just want to give a shout out to Ancellotti, who in my mind prepered a PERFECT tactical battel against a master tactitian like Hitzfeld, he knew when we should absorb pressure and when we should kill the game off and we did that with remarkable efficiancy in the space of 4 minutes.

Also, Seedorf who I though didn't have his best of games but was decisive in both goals, SUPER goal and a brilliant back heel for Pippo's goal. I knew that it would eventually come down to experiance and the decisiveness that Seedorf could have in games like this. So dst, since I admitted that I was wrong about my pessimism towards us going through you should do the same on this one (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I'll have my ratings up tomorrow but now I'm off to bed since it's 20 minutes past midnight and I have to wake up at 6:30 in the morning.

So goodnight guys and FORZA MILAN

Soccernet Article

QUOTE
Milan were too good for us - Hitzfeld

Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld admitted AC Milan had too much class and quality as his side bowed out of the Champions League after a 2-0 home defeat.

'It's a very big disappointment,' he said.

'We got a 2-2 draw in Milan and we had great hope that we would advance. But we always knew that Milan can win away from home.

'We were unlucky not to score first. It may have been different then.

'They got a lot of confidence from those two goals and they have great players. We tried everything and we went out fighting, but Milan was clearly the better team.'

QUOTE
We Fell Asleep In Between - Van Bommel

"It's very frustrating, of course, if you loose 2-0 at home," he told Sky Sports.

"It was awful, we lost the ball, they were quick on the break and they scored. Then we were all over the place and they scored again."

Indeed, Bayern did dominate the game during the 25 minutes before the goal, and in the second half, but were caught napping by an alert and clinical Milan side.

"I think we played very well during the first fifteen minutes," he continued.

"But then, we were caught sleeping, and they scored [twice] and it was over."

The Dutchman was one of the most active players for Bayern, repeatedly trying his luck from distance as the Bayern strikers refused to show up.

"Yeah, we needed a bit of luck, one of them to go in," he admitted.

Asked about the Milan - Manchester United semi-final clash, and who he thought would be the favourites, an understandably disinterested Van Bommel said: "It doesn't interest me a bit."

The former Barcelona and PSV man - who has now played CL knock-out ties against Milan three years in succession, and with three different teams - insisted that Bayern had not underestimated the Rossoneri, before eventually dropping his verdict on the semi-final in question.

"No, we knew they were a good team, but I think Manchester United are better," he concluded.

An excellent result - better than I'd hoped for (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) We silenced the Allianz with some great football, and everyone played a decent game. My ratings:

Dida: 7.5
Oddo: 7
Nesta: 8.5
Maldini: 7
Janku: 7.5
Pirlo: 7
Gattuso: 7.5
Ambro: 6.5
Seedorf: 8
Kaka: 7
Inzaghi: 7

Bravo to Carlo who read the game very well, although I'd have liked to have seen Sergio a little earlier.

Bring on Utd (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

These quotes should be archived, as to remind us, what our team did at a very turbulent season:

Commentary
QUOTE
A splendid Seedorf backheel flick sent Pippo clear from the static Bayern central defenders with a very tight onside decision and Inzaghi smashed his shot home into the roof of the net from the edge of the area. It was the sixth time he has scored against Munich.

Carlo Ancelotti
QUOTE
“Nesta has made a fine comeback and I think with Paolo Maldini they are still the strongest centre-back pairing in the world.”

Clarence Seedorf
QUOTE
“It was a shame for Roma, as it’s never nice to see sides humiliated, but Manchester United had a blistering start and the Giallorossi let their heads drop. It all went wrong from there. Against such an attacking side, it is definitely an advantage for us to play the second leg at San Siro.”

Gennaro Gattuso

QUOTE
“After yesterday’s 7-1 people were making fun of us. We are sorry for Roma, but I think Italian football has real value and we are World Champions,” said the midfielder.

“We must not forget that in these years with Ancelotti we have had two Finals and this is our fourth semi in five years. This is a great squad and people should not forget that.”

Even though we had a miserable if not AWFUL season without a top scorer and having so much injuries we made it through!!! This is the Milan I want to see in future games! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

Game ratings:

Dida: 9.9 Runner up of Man of the Match (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) !!! I dont know what we would have done without you DIDA!!!

Maldini: 7 Not as great as he used to be but still good for the team

Nesta: 10 I give Man of the Match to him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Nesta!!! WE MISSED YOU!!!

Oddo: 8 Probably one of the best buys Milan have done, this guy saved our @ss BADLY!! Thank you Oddo!

Janku: 8 gave Milan chances to score was a good player

Gattuso: 9.0 what can I say??? These guy is great !!

Pirlo: 7 Didnt make any breathtaking stuff but still a fundemental player to the team

Amborsini: 5 played very dirty and wasnt that much usefull

Seedorf: 9.5 ..... AMAZING!!!! Seedorf is still the man with the golden foot!
with 1 goal and 1 assist!

Kaka: 7 Does as he always does and made chances for Milan and also getting pressure off of seedorf and inzaghi so they can score

Inzaghi: 6.5 made a goal that was very VERY IMPORTANT but other than that he didnt play as good as he could of. Inzaghi still has some left in him, he just needs a bit more practice.

Gourcuff: 7 Kinda was a ball hog but he did get much much better

Cafu: 6 Played an average game but like everone else, he tried

Serginho: 8 For a debut he did pretty amazing, just needs to play a few more games to get back at his level

Thanks Tennie. I would have given Kaka more than a 6 considering he was involved in both goals!

FORZA MILAN!!!!!
And even more----FORZA SUPERPIPPO!!!!!!
Now I'm sure...Pippo is not as his best against Bayern, nut against Kahn only!!!! Go, I'M soooo drunk, but so happy as well. We were a bit lucky in the first half, yes, but then after the 1-0 we dominated Bayern, what a game by Nesta. It's so good to see him back in shape.
Also good to see that, once again, I can make fun of all my friends who are Bayern fans!!!

God.....I have to go to bed now...
