I told this in a previous post(http://www.milanfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1400&hl=sobis), he plays for the club I suport over here in Brazil, and yes he is a great player, I´m sad because he won't be here when Inter face Barça in december (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) (yes, Inter won from São Paulo), but happy cuz' Inter need to sell him($$$$$$$$), so sell to Milan (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/devilsmiley.gif) my other passion.
Like Cafu said he is not a in-box striker(Milan have Inzaghi and Gila so...), but he has a powerfull shot and is very quick.

What Cafu had to say about Sobis .. From: acmilan.com

QUOTE
CAFU: ’We’ll play our game at the Marakana’
8/18/2006

MILANELLO - Marcos also covered the transfer market and the possible arrival of compatriot Rafael Sobis: ’I know him well and he’s a really great player, he’s known for what he has done in the Cup Liberadores now but he’s done well and been called up to the national side. He’s a midfielder and support striker, but not an out-and-out striker.’  As for the new Brazil coach, Marcos respects his choice; ’Dunga was a great player, a great captain and give everyone a lift, now he’s looking to bring that to the national side. We have plenty of time and have to respect his choices.’ Returning to Tuesday’s game: ’We have to play our own game at the Marakana. The atmosphere will be really hot and they will be looking for their fans to help them.’

QUOTE (Portugal @ Aug 17 2006, 12:08 PM)
I think it depends. At the moment we don't need a pure in-box striker. Those are who score "a lot", like Trezeguet, Nistelrooy... etc

We need someone to help Gilardino or Pippo. And obviously who can score too... but, not only that.

You shouldn't go by scoring records. If everybody was like that, they'll think that Pauleta is a very good striker, when he's pure b/s... the worst striker I have ever seen.
*

honestly, i do not agree at all with that... what is the function of the striker?? what is he getting paid to do?? To score goals.. he can be disruptive (like robinho) but if he doesnt score or at least set up assits for someone else score, what is the purpose of having him as a striker?? he can run and try to fight whatever he wants, but if he does not score, why is he there? and i would like to get an explanation why pauleta is not a good striker.. he's doing what he's getting paid to do.. to score goals!!! nothing else.. i would like to get an explanation from portugal on what he considers a good striker is, and why he thinks pauleta is the worst striker he has ever seen..

First of all. I'm portuguese, and I know Pauleta very well. He can "superrrrrrrrrrr" (what the french love to say) in PSG. But in the NT, in a World Cup, in a Euro, in a big competion he's a zero.

If you statistic... I'll give 1 example: Portugal got to the Euro 2004 final (and lost). So, Portugal did what? 6/7 matches? Did you know the Pauleta's scoring record on that tornament? 4 SHOTS! 4 SHOTS! 4 SHOTS from the ONLY striker on the first 11. And he played almost every match.

And in this World Cup. 1 goal vs. a BIG TEAM like Angola, and the others? Nuno Gomes is like 5 times better than him. He played 20min vs. Germany and scored. Pauleta played all the other matches and scored 1 without the keeper on the goal.

It's pathetic. If you're a PSG fan, I'll understand you. In France he's very well know, he's the king of the scorers. But believe, here in Portugal everybody hates him. He's pure crap.

And yes, the striker job is to score goals. But in Pauleta's case, the problem is that he only able to score or create chances vs. Luxembourg, Liechnstein, San Marino... those big teams. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hugo Almeida (Bremen), Nuno Gomes (Benfica), and maybe Postiga (FC Porto) are WAY better than the PSG's striker.

People on other boards keep saying that Sobis has signed for Valencia, I checked their official site and so far there aren't any offiacial announcements about him joining them

if this is true then I really don't know what to say anymore.

QUOTE

This is from calciomercato, does it say that Sobithat he will be going to Racing

Yep. He will play for Racing Santander next year, or at least that's what it says. Too bad, we were so close.

It is absurd, I know. I think Berlusconi was the one that didn't want Sobis. He wants with all costs Ronaldo, and that utterly sucks. He probably hasn't seen La Liga in the last two years to realise how sh!t Ronaldo has become and that he's not the one of 2002 anymore. He's just a big fat whale whose primary objectives are to eat and change girlfriends every two months. He doesn't care about football anymore.

This also confirms it, he will not come to Milan. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Please translate, not everyone in here knows italian.

Damn, I hate that Berlusconi only wants big name players instead of quality ones. It's been like that forever. I can't believe that he blocks the Sobis-move just to make room for a Ronaldo who clearly sucks, plus he's unavailable at the moment and reportedly doesn't want to join Milan. I can't believe he's choosing a much older, worse, more expensive player in front of a great player of youth whose only dream is to join Milan. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) And to think that he can get Roanldinho, that's truly absurd!
Man, I'm so angry right now!
