I don't know how accurate Wikipedia stats are (probably well off) but I was interested in what i saw on Gila's page.

Parma: 96 games (50 goals) 0.52 goals per game
Milan: 49 games (28 goals) 0.57 goals per game

Yet all I hear is criticism? If these stats are true, I think we'd better get off his back, 'cause I thought he was awesome at Parma, maybe we expected WAY too much of him, since he's doing betteer at Milan anyways.

Every striker goes through a rough patch (sheva's was during 2002 i think)

But they eventually hit form and start banging in goals

Parma's Gilardino isn't the same Milan's Gilardino ... And that is something I am sure off. If u want to use stats to prove a point, it does, in the sense of numbers and what not. but in terms of effectivness, Gila isn't a 1/4 of what he was at Parma.

He isn't a Milan quality striker. He lacks goals

Can you explain why, i'm interested in knowing why you think he is not 1/4. I think he has shown his skillz, maybe not to his full potentional but i think he has scored some nice ones for us.

dude you cant just use his stats. his first season at parma he had 24 app. and only score 4 goals (0.17 GPG), obiously the vast majority of those games he played came from off the bench+ he hadnt developped into the true gila. then parma sold adriano so for the next two season 73 app. with 47 goals (0.64 GPG). so his first season with parma where he wasnt fully dev. and dint get a real chance at playing dragged down his goal average. Check Gilas stats when it comes to goalscoring, the vast majority of his goals came against weak teams, during blowouts, and not too often his goals resulted in pts. +coupled with the fact that he struggles in CL. and to proove my point i will list all the games he scored in:

1 goal, Sep 18 AC Milan @Sampdoria Serie A L, 2 - 1 Started
1 goal, Sep 25 AC Milan @Treviso Serie A W, 0 - 2 Started (did not score winner)
1 goal, Oct 16 AC Milan @Cagliari Serie A W, 0 - 2 Off 78 min
2 goals, Oct 26 AC Milan @Empoli Serie A W, 1 - 3 Off 67 min
2 goals, Nov 6 AC Milan H- Udinese Serie A W, 5 - 1 Started
1 goal, Nov 20 AC Milan @Fiorentina Serie A L, 3 - 1 Started
1 goal, Dec 18 AC Milan H- Messina Serie A W, 4 - 0 Started (4th goal, 85')
2 goals, Dec 21 AC Milan @Livorno Serie A W, 0 - 3 Off 83 min
1 goal, Jan 8 AC Milan H- Parma Serie A W, 4 - 3 Off 75 min (did not score winner)
1 goal, Feb 8 AC Milan H- Treviso Serie A W, 5 - 0 Started (did not score winner)
1 goal, Feb 12 AC Milan @Reggina Serie A W, 1 - 4 Off 57 min
1 goal, Feb 18 AC Milan H- Cagliari Serie A W, 1 - 0 Off 72 min
1 goal, Mar 19 AC Milan @Udinese Serie A W, 0 - 4 Started (did not score winner)
1 goal, Apr 22 AC Milan @Messina Serie A W, 1 - 3 Started (3rd goal, 89')

Just look at the teams he scored against... with the standins without pt. deductions he scored a total of 4 goals vs. teams in the top half of the standing the other 13 goals are against the bottom half, especially against relegation battling teams...

we did make the semis of the CL and he dint score a single goal...

In the end he dint have a bad season but it was nothing outstanding especially considering the rest of the team had a very good season.
