Whatever he does, I hope one day not in a very distant future, he will return to Milan and bring with him a new era. A glorious reign full of trophies and new memories for many years.

He is certainly capable of it.

Grande Billy.

Just curious, if Pisa did well last season, why are they looking for a new coach? The last one took a bigger job?

they currently have a coach but the club has changed owners and he has said he wants Billy as coach so technically there isn't a vacancy yet

Pisa has officially changed owners as of today. There's speculation on tuttomercatoweb that the coaching job is Billy's but no confirmation on Pisa's (or Milan's) website just yet.

No Coaching For House-Husband Costacurta
Former Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta has revealed he turned down the opportunity to coach Serie B side Pisa in order to stay at home with his son while his wife works...

Nicknamed Billy, Costacurta was Carlo Ancelotti's assistant coach at Milan last season, having ended a glittering 20-year playing career with the club at the end of the previous campaign.

Having recently gained the credentials to be a full-time coach, he was offered the job with Tuscan outfit Pisa, only to turn it down for an unexpected reason.

His wife, Martina Colombari, is touring with a theatrical production for six months starting this autumn and the former stopper plans to stay at home with their four-year-old son.

“I am sorry, because Pisa would be the ideal city and club to begin my adventure as a coach. I was really looking for a side like Pisa to start out with,” he said.

“My wife and my son come first right now, above anything else. I will not coach any side this season, as I will instead study so that I can improve further.

“I don’t want our son Achille to grow up with a nanny. I want to be there for him."

New Pisa patron Luca Pomponi took charge of the club on Friday and immediately made a beeline for Costacurta.

Luca Pomponi, who took charge of the club on Friday, immediately made his interest in Costacurta known, who has expressed his admiration for the chief, who will aim to go one better than the promotion play-offs elimination that faced the club last season.

“I liked Pomponi straight away, as he was enthusiastic and had clear ideas," continued Costacurta. "I don’t know if this will be enough to succeed at Pisa, but he wanted to build on the progress made by the last owners who went so close to Serie A.”

QUOTE
I Would Never Have Signed Sheva - Costacurta

Former Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Costacurta believes Milan should not have signed Andriy Shevchenko from Chelsea as he thinks it will stop Alexandre Pato and Marco Borriello from fulfilling their full potential at San Siro.

Sheva returned back to the scene where he enjoyed most of his successful playing career this week after a turbulent passage from Chelsea.

Fans and players were delighted upon hearing the news but it has not gone down with Costacurta, who made 458 appearances for the Rossoneri between 1987 and 2007.

“Sheva? I wouldn’t have signed him for Milan,” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.

“There are two important strikers there like Pato and Borriello and he (Sheva) could create some turbulence.

“No, if it was down to me I would not have resigned him at all.”

Many will agree with the former stopper. The Ukrainian hit-man seems past his best days, and having won everything with Milan in, he may find it difficult to motivate himself.

The deal with Chelsea came down to a tug of war but it was the Italian side who triumphed when push came to shuv as Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani began waving their fists.

I respect what he has to say.. but Shevchenko is more valuable than Borriello to us. Is he as good as he used to be? Maybe not. But Shevchenko has proven in this league, and for Milan has has what it takes. Borriello has had one good season in Italy, been a disaster while wearing the Milan shirt and has an attitude problem to boot.

I'm worried about the same thing Billy suggests might be a problem: disruptions in the dressing room.

Good thing that Billy isn't our coach then. Sheva or no Sheva, Milan needed another good striker. Pippo is 35 and injury prone, Boriello is 26 already and never did anything good at big club, and Paloschi is too young and . That leaves us only with Pato who at this point can't carry us all season. Now, with Sheva, we have more options and can play more than just one formation.

I don't trust Borriello at all, and one decent season at small club doesn't really matter when you come to Milan.

What dressing room problems? Sheva has good relationship with most of the team and if Borriello won't be happy about more competition, it's his problem.
