Typical tactical play by Ancelotti.

Just one comment on the game, that lob Pirlo passed to Pippo in the 9th minute .. he wasn't offside (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

So when is the return leg ? next week or two weeks ?

i think one week

I am sensing that certain people on the board have forgotten Ambrosini's past contributions. He may not be playing too well at the moment (he is playing as a left winger for fcks sake), that dosent mean he is useless.

I agree. but I think it'd be good for both him and Flamini if they were rotated.

QUOTE
I guess the next time Kaka or Pato goes through a bad patch of form we should sell them

What is it that every time a board member criticizes an Italian, exactly Pato and Kaka are brought up, even if that board member is not a fan of theirs?! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

QUOTE (MizNelson @ Feb 19 2009, 02:20 AM) *
Why?!? Are we that hard up for cash that we're slumming it with these hole-in-the-wall clubs?

Yes, we are. are you surprised?! you should be used to it by now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Because, zeddie, (and this is my impression only) some folks who are fans of Pato/Kaka/etc seem to me to be unwilling to accept any criticism of their favorites while heaping abuse on other players (not just italians. also janku, seedorf, etc).

And how do you know il_diavolo_mtl is a Pato/Kaka fan?

No don't get me wrong i have the upmost respect for his contributions to the franchise, however he is not the same as pato and kaka for one simple reason. He, being an older player must contemplate retirement as all older players do but hen they see tremendous downfall in their performances they should star to look at their careers in retrospect and wonder if he is still producing for his team. I am not saying it's all his fault as ancelotti believe Ambro is more match fit then Flamini who has battle hard every game Carlo has gave him a chance in. I'm also not saying Ambro hasn't helped us this year in fact his tackle on Stankovic during the derby and his header off a fantastic beckham FK was great of him but outside of a few great plays you saw how younger/lesser players were running around him (not only diego). If i have one semi-problem with this team it's Carlo's undying affection for his old players. I also don't suggest an arsenal-style team build, i really think age & experience are key! Despite people screaming and kicking about Seedorf (maybe for the same reasons as i did, Ambrosini) i find him to be a vital component to this team he is alwats getting the ball surrounded by 3-4 players and done well to open his passes up.
In a nutshell i don't condone Ambro the player, i condone Ambro the guy starting over Flamini a poised young gritty ball winning mid with a rocket leg.

I'm a HUGE PATO/KAKA fan, but i don't think either of them are immune to substitutions/poor showings and i think being a milan fan is synonymous with being a Ricky fan!

I'm assuming you meant "condemn" both times?

I don't, mtl. In fact I don't particularly like him. He's the best player on the team and I respect his contribution but I've never been (and am not now) a Kaka fan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

And before anyone pulls the 'tennie is a racist' card out again, I will point out that my all time favorite Milan player isn't Italian. He's Dutch: Marco Van Basten.

to regard or treat (something bad or blameworthy) as acceptable, forgivable, or harmless <a government accused of condoning racism> <condone corruption in politics>

But i hope you appreciate the work he's done for this team. For instance I'm a big dida fan but i can't shy away from realizing how good a find Abbiati was and his contributions to Milan have been great so far.
