A true poacher is a lost or almost lost art. But IMO Mandzukic comes very close to this. And I still think this system can be implemented with success. It's not that I suggested we play a libero or a goalie-player!?
I think we should keep SES, Balo, Pazzo and Palo as our options. Considering our luck, we'll need all four at some point. Obviously, Robinho and Matri should be sold for good.
If you have the right players behing him and the player knows how to play in such a system than yes. Bayern have so many options and so many creative players it's ridiculous, you can't really compare, and personally I don't really see Mandzukic as being so close to what a true poacher is.
I think when deciding who stays or goes we really need to look at the big picture.
First off, is Seedorf going to be staying? If we do bring in another coach then the 4-2-3-1 might be axed, which would make us look at our striking options in a completely different light
But looking at it from a 4-2-3-1 perspective. Those 6 players you mentioned would all have very different roles
SES wouldn't be considered as a striker, I think he'll be on the left wing. Same goes for Robinho.
Technically speaking, counting Matri in the equation, we have 4 options for 1 single position, with SES also being capable of playing up front if we have our hands tied. I think we need to sell 2 out of Pazzo, Palo, Matri. I think having 4 players for that position is overkill, especially when we have such a large squad, need the money and will most likely be playing in only 2 competitions next season. Yes injuries will most likely flare up, but we won't have such a huge fixture list to contend with next season.
As for Robinho (who can also play up front if we do have our hands tied), if the opportunity to sell him comes up then we should jump on it. But we'll have to replace him with another winger/AM preferably a winger as we don't know in what capacity Kaka will be able to continue playing at as of yet.
