QUOTE (Porty @ May 23 2007, 05:10 PM) Berlusconi at the end of the glory match: 'Now we'll go for a big name, but not Buffon. "I always said we have Dida so no need for a new keeper. "We won the cup for us and for Italy too. " We're definately the most powerful club in Europa on the last 20 years." Grazie Presidente. Now... who's gonna join the European Champions? (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) pfff 20 years?i'd say best team in europe ever! compare our 7 cups that were won when the CL was more dev. and tougher teams and more quality, compare that to real's first 5 in the 50s. i'd say we are the best all time!!!

QUOTE Berlusconi hails Italian triumph
Wednesday 23 May, 2007 ::: channel4.com
President Silvio Berlusconi says this win was “for Milan and Italy.†He also pledged summer reinforcements for the Champions of Europe.
The Rossoneri lifted the trophy for the seventh time in Athens when Pippo Inzaghi bagged a brace in the 2-1 win over Liverpool.
“I told Inzaghi he would score two goals and I was right. It is particularly wonderful to win tonight, as we have gone some way to wiping away the pain of Istanbul, which was still weighing heavily on us.â€
That penalty shoot-out defeat was a nightmare for President Berlusconi, as his team had been leading 3-0 before conceding three goals in six minutes.
“In 2005 it was a more entertaining game certainly, but this Final was bound to be tense and you have to focus on results as well as quality.â€
There were three English semi-finalists this season, but it was a Serie A club that took the silverware less than a year after Italy won the World Cup.
“Milan have won tonight for the club and for Italy. This is a great achievement,†added the club patron.
Berlusconi has repeatedly hinted at bringing in big names next season, including Andriy Shevchenko and Ronaldinho.
“Milan have every intention of strengthening their squad in the summer with signings up to the standard of the club.â€
Newspaper reports continue to insist another prime target is Juventus star Gianluigi Buffon after Nelson Dida’s disappointing campaign.
“I have always ruled out Buffon, as Dida is a great goalkeeper and has just signed a new contract with us.â€

to be honest, i'm glad
i'd rather get ronaldinho + others, instead of just ronaldinho & buffon.
i don't think sheva will be one of them...we are (hopefully) getting another kaka like midfield/striker, so we really don't need yet another striker on our team. i'd like us get some good replacements for cafu (as it was apparent tonight that janku is not that person). The loss of Stam to our defense was never fixed and we need someone to fill that hole.
i wouldn't be surprised if we went after a lot of the same players we went after last summer.

QUOTE (florenti1 @ May 24 2007, 12:54 PM) Galliani said that he doesn't want Ronaldinho and Eto because they are too expansive He wants Sheva Somehow i don't believe him Sure it would be nice to have Sheva back (maybe on loan for one year) but i think we should take advantage of this situation and buy one of barca strikers Two defenders+one or two miedfielders and next year we can win Scudetto - CL - Intercontinental cup Never believe in what Galliani says. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Shevchenko and Kaka' at the same time? No way. Not even in a super-ofensive English team they'd play together.
