Berlusconi: 'Ora un grande acquisto, ma non Buffon'

23:01 del 23 maggio ::: calciomercato.com

Berlusconi
at the end of the glory match:

'Now we'll go for a big name, but not Buffon.
"I always said we have Dida so no need for a new keeper.
"We won the cup for us and for Italy too.
"We're definately the most powerful club in Europe on the last 20 years."

Grazie Presidente. Now... who's gonna join the European Champions? cool.gif

pfff 20 years?i'd say best team in europe ever! compare our 7 cups that were won when the CL was more dev. and tougher teams and more quality, compare that to real's first 5 in the 50s. i'd say we are the best all time!!!

Berlusconi hails Italian triumph

Wednesday 23 May, 2007 ::: channel4.com

President Silvio Berlusconi says this win was “for Milan and Italy.” He also pledged summer reinforcements for the Champions of Europe.

The Rossoneri lifted the trophy for the seventh time in Athens when Pippo Inzaghi bagged a brace in the 2-1 win over Liverpool.

“I told Inzaghi he would score two goals and I was right. It is particularly wonderful to win tonight, as we have gone some way to wiping away the pain of Istanbul, which was still weighing heavily on us.”

That penalty shoot-out defeat was a nightmare for President Berlusconi, as his team had been leading 3-0 before conceding three goals in six minutes.

“In 2005 it was a more entertaining game certainly, but this Final was bound to be tense and you have to focus on results as well as quality.”

There were three English semi-finalists this season, but it was a Serie A club that took the silverware less than a year after Italy won the World Cup.

“Milan have won tonight for the club and for Italy. This is a great achievement,” added the club patron.

Berlusconi has repeatedly hinted at bringing in big names next season, including Andriy Shevchenko and Ronaldinho.

“Milan have every intention of strengthening their squad in the summer with signings up to the standard of the club.”

Newspaper reports continue to insist another prime target is Juventus star Gianluigi Buffon after Nelson Dida’s disappointing campaign.

“I have always ruled out Buffon, as Dida is a great goalkeeper and has just signed a new contract with us.”

Silvio - I love you.

I'm never going to disagree with any transfer he proposes, or anything else for that matter.

Milan are the best team in football history. Forget Real, forget Liverpool and forget Barcelona.

We are the champs. AGAIN! cool.gif

to be honest, i'm glad

i'd rather get ronaldinho + others, instead of just ronaldinho & buffon.

i don't think sheva will be one of them...we are (hopefully) getting another kaka like midfield/striker, so we really don't need yet another striker on our team. i'd like us get some good replacements for cafu (as it was apparent tonight that janku is not that person). The loss of Stam to our defense was never fixed and we need someone to fill that hole.

i wouldn't be surprised if we went after a lot of the same players we went after last summer.
Darunia
I hope we get Zambrotta, Alex/Mexes for the defense.
amancik
Milan will be a dream team if Sheva and Ronnie comes ...

Ronaldo, Sheva
Ronaldinho Kaka

I mean, that would be something!

Marca, the spanish newspaper says "After the CL final, Berlusconi has 1 objective: Ronaldinho."
tom_valtellina
I don't know if Ronaldo, Sheva, Ronaldinho and Kaka in the same line up would work. Brazil tried something similar in the World Cuo with Ronaldo, Adriano, Ronaldinho and Kaka and the team lacked balance.
florenti1
Galliani said that he doesn't want Ronaldinho and Eto because they are too expansive
He wants Sheva

Somehow i don't believe him

Sure it would be nice to have Sheva back (maybe on loan for one year) but i think we should take advantage of this situation and buy one of barca strikers

Two defenders+one or two miedfielders and next year we can win Scudetto - CL - Intercontinental cup

Never believe in what Galliani says. rolleyes.gif

Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Shevchenko and Kaka' at the same time? No way. Not even in a super-ofensive English team they'd play together.

No...Dida stays here. Guys, it would be so boring to have Gigi here. It`s much more exciting seeing him struggle against some minor clubs and then pull out such a grandious final match?? biggrin.gif

Why the hell do we want Sheva back so badly? Does Milan even realize we won the CL WITHOUT him?

And we sure as hell don't need the glory hound Ronaldinho. He has to be top dog or he's not happy, and he's getting that at Barca.
kurtsimonw
I really don't think R10 would like it here at all.

Kaka' is our golden boy, and it's going to stay that way. R10 will not be pleased.
Rossoneri7
In a couple of weeks, I believe many in this forum will be dissapointed (by the looks of ur reactions) ..

None of our players will leave, maybe Kakha, but no one else ..

Dida is staying, if he leaves, the harmony at Milan will break up as he has just signed a contract and Milan are all about keeping faith in their players (that is why Pippo Inzaghi would give an arm and a leg for Milan). So Buffon, I think he will stay with Juve.

R10 .. Silvio aint stupid. He wont open his mouth and keep reiterating the same thing, if it wont happen rolleyes.gif (u wont be hearing anything till the end of the La Liga)

Shevchenko ? Why ?! As Taylor said, we won the CL without him !!

We need a defender, a high profile one.
bigmacmtl
ya we dont need sheva, and we must get over that. winning the CL without him was the perfect tonic. right now ronaldo is his replacement but he isnt young so i think we should look to the future and get sumone young that will take on the sheva role 2-3 years down the road (that is as the star striker). we also need a good sub for kaka, cuz we were lucky he wasnt injured this season. we really need sumone who can come on and play in his role effectively, and i mean sumone who win can come on and win games for us. besides that maybe a defdner or two and freebie cuz we're talking about milan here lol.

i would really love to see PATO in here!!! .. ..or.....maybe tevez
they are both awsome king.gif rolleyes.gif

I think we need to release those players on the bench that don't produce and get some fresh talent. We could use a couple forwards, maybe an outside defender, an offensive midfielder, and a defensive midfielder. We have alot of players right now that don't play we should release, trade, or sell them.
I would clear these guys----
Keepers
Valerio
Marco

Defenders
Dario Simic
Favalli
Serginho
Costacurta(retiring)
Maldini(should retire has been injured and played flatly in league all season-- Even though he is the greatest defender of all time he really should retire and open the way to the next great. He didn't do much in CL to win the Trophy even though he held it- it should have been Kaka to receive the trophy in that he carried the team)
Cafu( Again one of the best of all time but just lacks pace and youth)

Midfielders
Brocchi
Ambrosini

Forwards
Oliveira
Borriello
Gilardino(I'd probably give him one more season and no goals = hes sold)

Aside from out CL glory our league performances have been really flat. We can destroy Manchester United but have trouble beating Udinese, its ridiculous. Even Kaka in league hasn't really had that great of a year. If we are going to get the league trophy we need to take it to Inter, Roma, and Juventus. So far we looked bad against Roma and got outshined by Inter Milan. Juventus will be another handful as they emerge from Serie B
sansiro1708
men i would not sell ambro, gila, cafu, favalli,or paolo for nothing
and i no its wierd but i actually liked brocchi in some games he is the closest gattuso a like there is.....................i no there old the but for me they are pretty ok subs and some can be 1st team material

What is wrong with you???

Hey, we`ve just won the CL?? Udinese?? We played with our reserves, that wasn`t a real match. Cool it down!

So you would fire half of the team judging by the Udinese game? Man,...the strenght of Milan is that we dont buy off the whole planet and then sell out the same thing next year! Why? Why should we release Å imić and Favalli for example? Why? Did they stated that they are unhappy and want to play more? No!! They are just two very good bench players, and I see no reason to fire them and then spend money and searching for new bench players,...

Ambrosini? Wtf?? He is great man,...

You really made me... mad.gif

We should NOT get rid of these.
Favalli: Whenever he plays he plays superbly, even scored a couple this season.
Serginho: Unlucky with injury this year, but he'll be involved when he's alright.
Maldini: You have to be kidding?
Cafu: Great backup for Oddo, both great getting forward.
Ambrosini: He's way too good to let go, I'd cry, literally, if we sold him.
Gilardino: He'll get better, not that he's not decent anyways.

Not really ... With Shevchenko, it is a different matter. When Sheva left, Silvio quickly stated his desire to bring R10. And he kept repeating it.

When did he make a statment about Shevchenko ?! During our game against United, between the two legs. And all he said was that Milan's doors was wide open.

It all depends, if he was released on loan, then yeah, but Silvio wont pay the amount Abramovic did for him ... Not that Silvio cant afford it, but because, he isnt the player he used to be.

Now, personally, the idea of Shevchenko and Ronaldo gives me goose bumps and would be the best strike force in the world !!!!

But Shevchenko didn't come to Athens ! He was invited by Berlusconi and didn't come, when he was already on vacation rolleyes.gif .. Maybe Abramovic asked him not too, but who knows why he didnt come.

Look, it is as simple as 123; Sheva was sold for Chelsea for 31 Million Sterling .. That is a lot of money for one season rolleyes.gif Even in Abramovic's books, he only has like a season or two to play at a certain level. That is why it doesnt apply, it is illogical rolleyes.gif

He is saying that almost every day rolleyes.gif today: "'Berlusconi guarantees: ‘Sheva and Ronaldinho? Yes, we will be even stronger’".

One or two seasons? so 32 is the limit. I wonder how Piipo is still playing. Sheva and Ronaldo are the same age and you are the one who always wants experience. You don't want him? Well Milan (Silvio) disagree rolleyes.gif

Terry - one of TOP-5 CB's on the planet. But he'll remain at Chelsea 100%.

Alex- Good choice. But we would need to sell any CB. Nesta, Maldini, Kakha, Bonera, anddd Alex would be too much for only 2 positions.

Lampard - Overrated. We don't need him at all.

Zambrotta- Just said that he will remain at Barca. But if they fail to win La Liga (which they probably will), than I can see him moving to Milan. One of the best transfers we can make this summer

Eto'o- I think fans in this forum doesn't want him very much in Milan. But I dream about him...

Ronaldinho- Get rid of him, better.

Pato- I saw some clips of him. He was impressive. But Milan will never ever sign a very expensive 17-year-old kid.

Left-Back - hmm... other than Zambro I can't think of anyone who would be a great LB signing, but we desperately need to buy one, since Janku doesn't convince (especially in the final he was awful), and Sergio getting older, actually 35,36, and thats too much for a player who needs to run all the time.

Pirlo-sub- We need to buy a substitute for Pirlo. He needs rest. It's also better for Milan, coz resting him means he can perform better the next match...

Terry: Top 5 CB in the world, comfortably. Chance of him leaving Chelsea? 0%

Alex: Nesta, Maldini, Bonera & Alex would be a dream CB force. If Kaladze goes that is, but I think KK will stay, so no Alex.

Lampard: He's had an awful season by his standards. But in saying that he's still got 20+ goals again. I don't understand why he gets so many critics, especially when he outscores the likes of Cristiano, Villa, Gila, Gerrard, kaka and countless other names on a regular basis. World class player.

Zambrotta: I'm a bit 50/50 with him. I'm very happy with the Oddo/Janku thing and don't want to change then. But the thought at having Zambro at Milan is too good to be true. Have to wait to see how this one pans out.

Eto'o: Typical Barca forward. Lazy, slefish and moody with a God complex. Do we really want his type around here? With the hard work that Pippo puts in every time he plays, it's just not fair to get a player like him.

Ronaldinho: Same as Eto'o.. But I think he can be a much harder worker when he wants to be. Not sure I want him though.

Pato: Clips of seen are superb, then again, who's going to make a video showing how bad he is? Haven't seen enough to say.

Our favoured midfield 4 is going to be Joe Cole on the left, Becks on the right and Carrick/Hargreaves holding. That leaves one space, since Lamps scored way more goals, I'd have to go with him.

Gerrard just looks good 'cause he's in a team of ametuers, not the Roman All-Stars. wink.gif
