Bonera takes Dida blame

Daniele Bonera has taken the blame for Nelson Dida’s disastrous performance, but the Milan fans have turned on the want-away goalkeeper.

Chievo took the lead at San Siro last night when Bonera clattered into Dida as he was trying to protect the ball, allowing Sergio Pellissier to waltz into an empty net.

“I was first to the ball, then Dida called and so I left it. Let’s just say I’ll take the blame, as I could’ve cleared it,” insisted the defender. “Perhaps I was pushed from behind, but I take my responsibility.”

However, the fans did not see it that way and Dida was widely jeered throughout the match, although there was a ‘strike’ on in the Curva so the Ultras restrained from cheering.

“I think the booing was amplified because the Curva was silent, but in any case it’s normal to be criticised when things aren’t going too well. The crowd has a right to make its feelings heard. I’m sure Dida will be able to react and won’t suffer the situation too much.”

The rapport with the goalkeeper has been on edge for some time and has now reached breaking point.

Dida has refused to extend his contract, which expires at the end of the season, and Rossoneri directors have all but confirmed it is because he already has an agreement with Barcelona.

With this in mind, his recurring injuries this season and woeful form shown in the Chievo game, it’s possible Zeljko Kalac will be picked to play against Celtic on Wednesday.

“This wasn’t an easy game, especially in terms of the physical strain. Chievo are dangerous upfront, but when Milan move as we know how, we can really scare anyone,” continued Bonera.

“I am also glad for Alberto Gilardino’s goal. I hope it bodes well for the Champions League game with Celtic and the Milan derby.”

Nah .. I dont think we will end up playing in the UEFA cup ... Milan have reached their target, 4th place. We have a very good chance for 3rd place as do Lazio, but I think we and Palermo will be a definate 3rd and 4th place finish when this season ends.

We haven't made 4th anything, we are lying in 6th place atm. And if we lose against Inter and Lazio and Empoli continue to win then we will fall back six points behind with Fiorentina breathing on our @sses.

The derby is the derby, Even if Inter had already won the league by the time we met they still won't be complaicent because the derby is practically as important as winning the league. Bragging rights so to speak.

Don't be so sure of something, untill that smth isn't already a history. Football is an unpredictable game... who knows, though I'm 90% sure also that we'll take 3rd place

No, it's being realistic, we can't not take any notice of Lazio and Empoli, they are our challengers for the 4th spot and neither of them look like they are going to drop points any time soon.

And no, being in 6th place reagardless how large or small the gap is, is still not managing to complete our goal.

Inter, regardless of having the title already wrapped up won't let us walk all over them in the derby while they take a lunch break, they will be looking to winning it you can be sure of this.

And we might not be in the horrific form we were in the first time we met them but we are far from being at out best.

I'm not being pessimistic about this, just realistic.

I never said we don't have any chance in winning any of those games, BUT if we lose them it WILL be hard to reach fourth.

At this point of the season we can't drop any more points, period.

Fiorentina are a few points away, so they can get into the mixh also and Lazio and Empoli don't look like they will be dropping points anytime soon.

As I said I'm just trying to be realistic about the situation we currently find ourselves in
