I'm not that worried about Mike. Honestly, Sportiello has been pretty solid.

Yeah he has, but look at that save Mike pulled today. Only about 4 other keepers in the world pull that off imo. That is the extra he brings to the table.

From certain angles it looked a bit off, others looked ok imo. I honestly thought they were going to remove the goal.

Also, just to add. None of the Genoa players reacted. Usually when there's even a sniff that the ball was handled everyone would immediately raise their arm

Anyway, about the game, there is nothing to be said. Atrocious performance. I have never been so angry at a match before. It was the attitude that truly irritated me beyond belief. Genoa are a crappy side, we could have easily won this had we put enough effort, but we clearly didn't. And that is unacceptable, especially since we had the chance to top the table solo.

Even though it does feel that way while you're watching in real-time and you're so frustrated you do not know what to do with yourself, I cannot agree that it's because they did not try.

We were slow and that allowed Genoa to keep organized. We were slow not for lack of trying but it's because this is the default setting we revert to under Pioli. It has been that way for a long time now unfortunately. All the hope I had watching the first 3 games when there was movement and fluidity is all gone now. So we look slow, lethargic and like we're not making effort.

We have a good few injuries to deal with as well as a packed schedule. Games like this will happen. As long as we get the 3 points I do not care how it is done. Do you think the Inter fans are happy now because they played "nice" football during that first half, but ended up drawing.


And btw, Genoa are not a crappy side. Gilardino has them very well drilled and they took points off of all the top 6 sides they've faced so far.

Sure, but as I said, as long as we get the 3 points in tricky games like this one, I do not care how we do it. Just get it done. Games like this are ripe for a slip-up especially with Inter slipping up before. The performance was bad but Mike had nothing to do all game apart from that long-shot save. So we know the defensive phase is finally working. Aside from that Inter debacle we've been very good defensively, as long as that is solid I'm okay. The Scudetto run was achieved because of defensive solidity not due to attacking fluidity.

I re-watched the slow-mo of Puli's goal. And I agree, it was not a handball. It clearly struck the armpit area and chest when he controlled.

Btw, all the good plays we had in the first half came through Chukwueze. Pioli really needs to give him a couple of full 90 minute games consecutively, otherwise he will keep struggling to get into any sort of match rhythm.
