Yeah agreed. Origi I think will be a big signing in terms of how he'll perform for us. He's mobile, quick, can score from anywhere. It will basically be similar to what Rebic was doing at the start of last season but without the injuries or the hot and cold form. This signing went under the radar, but in terms of how it will pan out, I think it will be similar to ones like Bennacer, Theo, etc. Where we literally were "meh" about these players and the turned out gold for us.



But yes, We need top AM, top RW, CM replacement for Kessie for sure. Then some other touch ups.

We're playing Marseilles tomorrow at Velodrome. I read a crowd of 60k is expected. Should be an interesting match.

Messias doing his best to make me look bad. Goal and assist so far

Bennacer looks really good so far. I really hope he can stay fit and in form this season. It could make or brake our season.

Everyone looks in good shape! Messias putting in a nice performance on the wing and connecting well with Calabria. I really think Rebic is not a player we can count on anymore. He's so hot and cold. Overall, the team is looking good. Very solid defensive midfield and defense too.

Re Rebic. He's been so unlucky with his fitness. Missing more games than he's played in recent months. It's going to show. Thankfully we have Leao and for a sub Rebic is good imo

We should have won this 5-0 or close. So many missed chances, which is not a good thing. Leao has to work on his accuracy. It's his biggest flaw at this point.

A good showing from the team. Chemistry is so good. The team clicks and moves as a unit.

Form is not a constant, there will be ups and downs. But overall the team did well.

As for individuals, is still too early to judge. The team as a whole was in great form.

Next game is the season opener against Udinese.

Messias was great today. Goal, assist, quality output overall. Doesn't compare to Saladmaker who was atrocious when he came on.

Next game is another friendly vs Vicenza on the 6th. I hope we get to see some minutes of De Ketelaere and Origi.

We better tie him down long term ASAP. I do not understand why we're going to walk into the season with him and Benna on their last 2 years. If Leao gets that last piece to his game down, his finishing, then he'll be worth big money. He's already a 100m player imo. But if he starts getting big goal numbers and we still haven't tied him down long term, we're screwed


What we've seen from Pioli so far in the 2 full seasons he's been our coach is that we come out of the traps quick. I think we're going to start the season really strong this time out, probably even stronger than last season which would be something since we were nearly perfect for the first 10 matchdays or so

No, it's just speculation in case of a sprain. The instrumental tests will be carried tomorrow. The hope is that it's only an elongation, which requires a few days of rest. But knowing our luck, it's probably going to be a sprain. I really hope he doesn't miss the derby on 3/9.

I really don't think CDK was signed for the RW going by the comments from people at the club as well as others who know CDK's game. Everyone seems to see him as an attacking mid/second striker type. This gives me chills as it is setting us up for another season of Messias and Alexis on the right

This is what I have been wrried about all summer. If we do not replace Kessie adequately we're going to have serious trouble this season. Our mercato has really been a worrying sign with regards to the new ownership. CDK aside we have not made any other moves of significance this summer, this after losing 2 very good players for free once again. Romagnoli it is understandable why it's not an emergency to replace him but it is critical to replace Kessie at this point. We cannot go into the new season with just Tonali and Bennacer for that double pivot + a rag-tag team of random players who are not good enough to fill that position.


We got lucky this time, but next time it could be a big problem.

We're on August 12th and there are no significant links currently to any player who could realistically be purchased to replace Kessie. All I see are new random names being thrown about every day.
