QUOTE (X-Offender @ Feb 26 2024, 11:42 PM) *
There are no must-win games anymore in the league for us. Just huff and puff and hope we somehow don't screw up in the end, but with Italy closely getting that 5th spot for the CL, we look very comfortable. Whether we finish 2nd or 4th matters like if none at all.

And yes, Orasto did cost us the game. One of the ugliest penalties I've ever seen given. Shameful for a referee considered to be Italy's best.

It's a pity that in the two games we've played our best football lately, i.e. Bologna and Atalanta we only managed to scrap a point in each.

I disagree. I think banking as much points as we can will help us when we're playing mid-week.

Yes, Italy will have a 5th spot. But I want that 2nd place, not to mention that once you go near Bologna in the standings it is very congested and one misstep could easily land you in 7th. The bigger the gap between us and 4th the better our chances in Europe as well all know Pioli cannot rotate for sh!t.

We seem to be winning the games we sh!t house and fluffing the ones we play well in. The amount of points we have is a testament to that with how sh!tty we've played for the majority of the season

Great 3 points against Lazio. Another sh!t housery right there. Terrible overall game. And Di Bello took the cake. 3 reds for Lazio, still completely stumped why he sent off Marusic, but Hysaj should have been off as well considering he violently elbowed Oli in the back of the head. Completely lost control of the game. And Lazio are a disgusting bunch of whiners. That's 12 points off of the Rome clubs this season. Just beautiful.

Btw, the midfield composition we've got going right now is not only giving me nightmares but it gives me a nauseous feeling when I watch it.

Bennacer, all over the place, RLC playing nearly next to Giroud, Adli the only one central is slow as f@ck

We leave so many wide open spaces in the centre of the pitch. Why are we not lining up the mids in a flat 3 FFS? It looks like a f@cked up 4-2-3-1 that constantly leaves us exposed

And why isn't Tijjani starting games suddenly FFS?? We're so much better with him on the pitch, especially paired with Benna (who was @ss today btw). For me RLC is the weakest one in terms of movement/passing. Sure he has the phisique and has popped up with goals as of late. But he makes so many bad decisions and take so much time to pass.

Adli also can be such a big liability at times.

I'd rather see a flat RLC, Benna, Tijjani midfield. I think it's a much better mix. Still no natural holding mid, but all are relatively quick and strong so they should hold their own. The 4-2-3-1 is just leaving us wide open

Agreed completely about the midfield. This is a testament of how incapable Pioli is as a tactician.

When we started the season I was so sure it'd be a classic 4-3-3 with Bennacer (once he'd return) in the middle and Reijnders and RLC on the sides. A flat midfield, classic and simple. Instead he's been messing things up throughout the entire course of the season, trying weird stuff and never being consistent.

Bennacer is a regista, point. RLC is a box-to-box mid, not a trequartista. And Reijnders MUST be played in a more advanced role and not relegated in front of the defence. The fact Pioli doesn't grasp this speaks volumes about how incompetent he is.

PS: The Lazio defender though, what a dumbass! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Lazio in general are dumbasses

Case in point re midfield and general match control is tonight's game

Slavia were the better team before that red (deserved? Maybe. Not sure). How can we be aiming to win this competition playing like this against one of the worst sides left in the tournament?

Just ridiculous how we cannot control games. Even a man up, we somehow let them put pressure on us, force a corner and score.

Nah man. This season can't be over fast enough. Pioli is done!

Now let's watch him run the likes of Giroud, Leao, Pulisic, RLC into the ground and then we rest them all at the same time against Empoli and we lose precious league points for absolutely no reason.

How can you concede twice while having an extra man?

Unbelievable how sh!t we've been at defending

We need to push to have at least a 2 goal lead for the 2nd leg. Otherwise we'll get KO'd

A 4-2 win, a 2 goal lead going into the 2nd leg, and it feels like a loss FFS! Even the players looked like we had lost...

Unbelievable what t has boiled down to.

You just know we're going to lose all the battles, get pegged back and concede more than once in the 2nd leg. If we make it through, it will be by the skin of our teeth. We just cannot control games and as a consequence of that, we cannot defend either

Btw, Pioli needs to stop playing Kjaer now. Thanks for the service, and he's saved us these last 3 months considering we had no other defenders. But not that the others are back he should not be starting. Mistakes in each game, cannot keep up anymore.

Why was Gabbia taken off anyway? He's been excellent since coming back and it's not like he's played a lot this season. Just Pioli things FFS!

That midfield needs to be sorted out. How can a professional coach who has won titles not look at this midfield and how we're constantly exposed and backtracking, not look at these games and see that we have a bad shape??

The midfield is stretched wide and high. It's f@cking obvious. I just cannot wait to face a better side. We'll get reamed. Already having nightmares about when we have to face Inter as Champions.

It was a disastrous performance. Many players simply not bothering at all. Aside from Reijnders and Pulisic, everyone else was snoozing. And we conceded 2 goals against a 10-man Slavia FFS!

We're not gonna win this tournament, let's be honest. Many other sides are better than us.

I can't wait to have Pioli gone, as I'm sure this team will be revamped under a new capable coach. Look at Roma! They looked dead with Mourinho, but De Rossi has transformed them into an entirely new animal in a month. And it's De Rossi, not Guardiola. Just goes to show how important the coach figure is in a club. Not just tactically, but also as a motivating factor. I'm convinced many players in this team just have abandoned Pioli, and management knows this.

No idea. I'd love it to be De Zerbi or even someone like Thiago Motta. Conte too despite the fact I don't like his football, but at least he has the right mentality.

Why no De Zerbi?

Because he plays one way, and while it is very easy on the eyes. It is also susceptible to the usual reaming.

For me Motta is the more dynamic of the 2.

We are riding our luck FFS

The sh!ttiest red card given to Slavia again. Feel sorry for them

Meanwhile we lose Mike to the stupidest back pass you'll see in a good while.

Our heads are not in these games. I do not understand how we could approach these games with such lack of concentration and effort. It's the only silverware we can win and we're throwing it away

F@ck Pioli!!!
