QUOTE (han2503 @ Jun 28 2012, 04:14 PM) I haven't read anything about Cassano not being fit. In fact I just read on FI that he'll most likely start tonight, with the only change from the England game being Chiellini coming in at LB instead of Barzagli...
That's another stupid decision should it happen. Why remove one of the most impressive players for Italy and let a liability lik Bonucci in the center, plus putting your best CB at LB... I read something about Cassano being a game time decision in some Greek site. You're wrong on that one. Chiellini has played at LB before, plus Barzagli is way too slow to play there. That's not even debatable, he practically has no choice. --- ???

Wow, it took goal.com a whole 4 days to totally put Lahms statments out of context and exaggerate them. Now, that's journalism for the 21st century...

Leaving to see the game. Hope it won't be as hard as in 06. But since I'm less enthusiastic for our team these days I'll take a loss better than 6 years ago I think. Still hope, that we can win. We have better players and more potential, but Italy is Italy. We'll see...

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jun 28 2012, 01:19 PM) What Chiellini for Barzagli at LB?
So Abate ??? Bonucci Chiellini? Whaa? Oops, meant to say Balzaretti not Barzagli. So essentially the back 4 will be Abate--Barzagli--Bonucci--Chiellini Which is ridulous really when you have a perfectly good LB to play and an opportunity to remove the weak link out of the center of the defence QUOTE (dst @ Jun 28 2012, 01:21 PM) I read something about Cassano being a game time decision in some Greek site.
You're wrong on that one. Chiellini has played at LB before, plus Barzagli is way too slow to play there. That's not even debatable, he practically has no choice. I wrote Barzagli instead of Balzaretti by mistake, sorry that must have been confusing What I mean is that he's leaving Bonucci in the center next to Barzagli and taking out Balzaretti to play Chiellini on the left. I know Chiellini can play LB, but what's the point of taking out your best choice at LB and moving you best CB to that position, just doesn't make any sense If Italy have everyone fit than there is no doubt that this would be the best solution Abate--Barzagli--Chiellini--Balzaretti Marchisio--Pirlo--De Rossi Montolivo Balotelli--Cassano

QUOTE (LaPalma @ Jun 28 2012, 12:39 PM) I dunno why everyone wants to call Ronaldo a whiner now. He was supposed to take the last penalty, which is, along with the first one, the hardest to take. If it was Messi in the same situation, he'd be glorified for wanting to take the penalty that has the most pressure, I don't get the hate at all. People seem to just assume he wanted to score the winner. The guy is not psychic, he doesn't know what the score would be by the 5th. No logic at all. QUOTE (LaPalma @ Jun 28 2012, 12:39 PM) So England, Argentina and Brasil are bad teams? At WC10? Yeah England were bad. And which teams had more possession/shots/corners? We did. It's much easier when you have a lead thanks to the refs and you can sit back and counter when the other team has to attack. Argentina, again, you were beaten in possession/shots/corners, but again it's easy to sit back and counter with the lead - at least this team you deserved the lead in the first place. I don't even know when you played Brazil. QUOTE (dst @ Jun 28 2012, 02:55 PM) Lahm on Italy vs EnglandKurt's just going to love this... his favorite German player talking about England. I'm much prefer watching Lahm than listening to him, y'know, when he's costing his team a Championship. (IMG: http://fotos.subefotos.com/a35f3f85de0eee117e0b29d5e32001c7o.gif)

Have to say Germany are the heavy favourites...wish Italy give a good account of themselves though. But above all please let the match not be a borefest.

The only doubts were Abate, Chiellini and De Rossi and they're all going to make it back in time according to the latest reports

Both games Germany were the obvious stronger side, no matter how hard you try sounding it different. Germany played a great World Cup, and were the most impressive side that tournament until the game against Spain, without Thomas Müller.
