He's not hurt but his pregnant girlfriend got really sick in Dubai and he stayed with her. He's supposed to be coming back to Italy with her on Saturday but.... |

Yet another independent bookstore is closing out here, and it's the one location in the downtown area that sold Calcio Italia. Yeah, it's a ragsheet, but I'll miss it all the same as now I won't be able to read about Milan on the printed page anymore unless I start buying the Gazzetta. Sigh.

Carletto has given his prematch press conference. Chatty stuff about his past as a Roma player, that training in Dubai went well, that Totti and Gattuso being absent are losses for their respective teams, etc. The only two hints on a lineup are the fairly clear statement that Beckham will not start and that Ambro will be a gameday decision - depends on how he's feeling/doing after coming late to Rome.

Tonetto is definitely out for Roma. I think Menez will be too as he didn't train today with the team; instead, he did phyical therapy.
