I agree. But I still have one question...why does it have to be Bayern?

I can't quite recall what this image is about, Palm. Any friendly hints about what happened here? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

QUOTE (acid911 @ May 8 2008, 09:27 PM)
Maybe I'm spoiled a bit by having the classiest captain around in Paolo. Every one including his opponents respect him, plus he's able to motivate his players all the while keeping a cool head on his shoulders. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Rino and Ambro are hot heads, and not our best performing player either. Nesta is our second best player after Kaka, if you look through the season. And if anything they should at least be considered for the post.

Having said that I'm okay with either of our current captains. Maybe it's me, and you think differently, but I can't imagine a Milan captain making super aggressive tackles, driving their elbows in opponent's faces, bad mouthing the referees, and accumulating yellows and red by the dozen. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) But like I said, the two have been doing the job decently in Paolo's absence, so I can't complain. Much.
*

A role of a captain is to motivate his players and keep them cool when needed, he's the one who drives the rest f the lads by showing the example, and Rino is perfect for that. What you think about him is nothing but the stereotype a lot of people have about him, but he changed a long ago ... You can even check his yellow/red cards number and compare it with the rest of the team ...

About Nesta you should forget, simply because he's the Lazio symbol and no matter what, he'll always be seen as la Lazio icon just like Totti is la Roma icon. Kaka as a captain? Why not but definitely not now.

Well, to be honest I do hope I'm wrong about him, and Gattuso is like you say he is. For now I'd be more than happy to see one more year of Paolo, if he decides to stay on. And if Rino is still here by the end of next season, then by all means he's earned the right for the armband. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Speaking of which I'm not up for the icon thingy. One can't deny that Nesta is and will be Lazio at heart, but that can't hide the fact that he gives twice as much as other players in most matches I've seen.

Best image from that game was of Lothar Matthaus. He was taken off right before the end to basically get a standing ovation, then to lift the trophy. His face as the first goal went in was priceless. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

There is no reason for name calling. He is one of our icons and always will be. He is a man of his word and he shall make the right decision for himself and Milan. 'Nuff said.

All I care about is to see him go with dignity. Like a man, not like the dog. I want him to clearly state why he leaves, no "I want my wife to enter the German version of The Swan" crap! If he wants to go then we can't hold him down... I still hope he won't go though. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

As for the CL final... I don't like Bayern but I can't but feel sad for any team that loses that way (unless that team is called Liverpool). They were so terribly unlucky in that final... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

I've heard that Italia 1(a Berlusconi tv station?) is reporting that a deal has been done between Milan and Bayern for Gattuso, with the amount being between 15-20m(not sure if pounds or Euros). It states that is the reason why we signed Flamini so quickly.

If this is true then it's a fantastic deal, but we now ought to be looking for a WC DM(Diarra, Essien) so that we have enough available cover. as for Rino, good luck to him (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'd love to see Essien in Milan but I think he would be terribly expensive and Milan are not going to spend big for this department... I don't think he's for sale anyway. I'd like Gago instead. He would not be cheap either but... he's a more complete player.

I still hope Gattuso stays though.

I can't believe Rino is actually going to Bayern - I'm shocked!

Going to wait until it's confirmed before I comment further.

In an interview with spox.com Rinos agent said that there is no contact to Bayern. But at this point I'll only believe it when Gattuso comes out and says "Me at Bayern? No way..."

Sh1t! I could see this coming (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I don't really think we will struggle without him, but I hope he stays (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

Ah damn. I hate to remember that night. back then I really liked Bayern... I think it was as painful as our Istanbul defeat. we conceded three goals but had PLENTY of time to recover. but for Bayern it was like a lightning strike. it was really shocking...

Its lamentable if Gattuso leaves, but a world class replacement must be brought in if it does happen

We cannot afford to have Puma and Brocchi as the only alternatives to Flamini and Ambro

I don't think Ringo could be replaced if he left. Not Essian, Diarra, Cambiasso, (just put in any DM in the world) can fill in for Ringo. Even if you bring in Ronaldinho, Messi and Etoo .. There would still be a HUGE hole left in this Milan team without Ringo. .

I just can't imagine this Milan without Ringo ... Sure he doesn't have the technical skills of many sought after DMs in the world .. But he has a unique characteristic, that fighting spirit, the drive and determination. He is just irreplaceable.

I hope, that he remains (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
