Diego Lopez deal could be done by tomorrow according to Marca

So Armero is done (Milan Channel confirmed it). Diego Lopez could be done tomorrow and they're saying that we'll be making an official offer for Taraabt next week.

I'm not too happy about the Taraabt thing, it's still not what Pippo wants, but if the choices are getting a very talented player for something like 5m or getting a 27 year old average player like Cerci for 20m, I think it's a pretty straight forward decision.

Can anyone provide a list of all the official sales and signings so far (even the insignificant ones like loans/sales of young players)

I really don't want Taarabt. He's very inconsistent, has a bad-boy attitude, and in all honesty he didn't impress that much in his prior spell with us. He was decent, but not good enough to be considered starting material and the solution to our problems.

I don't think Cerci is the solution either

So 20m on Cerci vs 5m on Taraabt? No brainer for me

I think he showed good moments, he frustrates me mostly because he's such a soloist if he can tone that down I think he'd be a pretty decent player.

Not sure how accurate wiki is.. but I just did some quick math. Arsenal's current squad cost them ~270 million euros in transfer fees. Milan's current squad cost ~92. Sad..

Arsenal are probably the best run team in England. Maybe top 5 in the world. Not fair to compare to them.

De Jong has one year left on his contract so it's either extension or sell. With our current situation, I don't think he'll sign an extension since he still has few good years left and I doubt he'll want to waste them on a team that's going nowhere in the next few years at least. Hope I'm wrong but be ready for his departure.

But generally speaking they were seen as well run because they were always in the CL without spending. Now they have a high cost squad and massive debts with the stadium.

Wrong. They have no short-term debt. Long-term debt is the same as having energy debt, it is no detrement to the running of the company and no one will be knocking on their door any time soon to demand it back. Every company has big long-term debt, it's just part and parcel of business.

The reason they're so wealthy is they charge scandalous prices for their ST's and like you say have barely invested in their squad while raking in the CL cash.

So now they're spending.

Meanwhile we have our own long-term debt but while we also have been doing as Arsenal have and raking in the CL cash without spending, we're STILL not spending! And Silvio refuses to do so. We're worth $870M, same as Chelsea, but we rely on freebies while Chelsea invest big money in Costa, Fabregas, and Luis to name just 3.

So atm the squad is down to 26 players, 3 of which are goal keepers

With Diago Lopez and Armero potentially coming in, that brings it back to 28

We still have some work to do to reduce the size and lose some of that dead weight we have.

One of the keepers will surely be sold/loaned. I've read that it could most likely be Agazzi being sold or Gabriel loaned. So that's the keeper situation back down to what it should be. Hopefully they move fast with it once we sign Lopez

We still have Didac Vila on the books, a lot of rumours about him going to Spain but so far nothing concrete, but I'm going to assume that we'll sell him or loan him by the end of this month. Zaccardo is also unneeded. Don't get why we even signed him in the first place. Give him an ultimatum sign for a club that we find for him or rescind his contract. I can't take seeing anymore of these players happily sitting their @sses on our bench.

Essien imo needs to be sold, too high wages no quality to back it up and we're in desperate need f a proper CM. And going by Galliani's philosophy we won't sign that much needed midfielder unless one leaves.

The attacking department still needs that winger, loan out Niang, bring the new winger.

So if we do that it would be

Gabriel/Agazzi, Zaccardo, Vila, Essien, Niang -> out
Lopez, Armero, CM, RW in

5 out, 4 in with a squad size of 25. Pretty good work if that does happen.

Of course it's not. I've always been against signing Cerci. I was specifically speaking about Taarabt there.

Agreed with everything. The player that frustrates me the most is Zaccardo, the most useless player we have in our roster. I doubt we'll sell Niang as Pippo personally wanted to keep him. Even with a 26-man squad we'd be more than fine.

Yeah but atm it's looking like we're only interested in those 2 for the winger position

I would want Niang to go on loan rather than sell him. Yes Pippo wants to keep him but with all those players in attack, plus the new winger we're supposedly going to buy, I really do think it would be better for him if we loaned him to a Serie A side

Milan acquire Real Madrid’s Diego Lopez: the details

Milan have closed the deal for Diego Lopez. They have reached agreement with Real Madrid and the player. The goalkeeper will sign a four-year contract, he’ll take the medical on Monday. At this point, the only thing missing is the final signature by Real Madrid on the paperwork for the transfer. He joins on a free transfer, Milan will pay only some bonuses. After that, Diego Lopez will be officially a new Milan player.

That's what Di Marzio is saying. So I can only assume that we compromised with him about the wages by giving him a longer contract.

I think this is a pretty great deal, he's got some good 5 years left in him playing at the top of his game and right now he's easily one of the best keepers around imo.

This is definitely some great work. Alex, Menez and Diego Lopez all for nothing. Armero on loan with his contract expiring next summer so we can sign him for free if he does well.

Now we only have to fix that midfield situation, forget the winger, that should be second priority imo

Lopez is a good signing. It'll be hilarious if Madrid don't start Navas and go with Casillas to start the season, he's such a terrible, terrible keeper.

Not pleased though, should have gone with Perin. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) Future proofing. Genoa connection. Better keeper too. Then again, there is some reason for joy here, we rarely pay attention to the goalkeeper position during transfer windows. We needed a new one five years back, like, in 2009.
