QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jun 29 2012, 11:34 AM) I can't agree with that. "risky" would be right word to describe his shot.
After missing a similar chance against England while trying to hit it with technique, I can't blame him. I think the way he scored it a bit stunned the Germans. more than it would have if he'd scored it any other way. He was not aiming, just looking to hit it hard. And its bounce off the ground helped him.

QUOTE (han2503 @ Jun 29 2012, 03:35 PM) As I said, the only hope that I had for the game was their suspect defence, Lahm's idiotic play on the second goal was also something done at mediocre levels. I don't understand why he's considered a world class FB when he's not an adapt defender Coz people really don't understand defending anymore han. We're lucky we grew up watching football, in the era we did. We actually also played on a field at times, you know with our feet. Not with our thumbs on a gamepad.

In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo apparently demanded the last penalty and was not assigned it by Bento. This is a supposed quote from Nani...albeit from tribalfootball.

Huh? No..I mean there were reports which said that Ronaldo was just ordered to take the last penalty by Bento...but Nani claims that's not true. Instead Ronaldo told Bento that he wanted to take the last one. Hence the ordering.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Jun 29 2012, 01:47 AM) Yet again a good German team does not manage to seal the final win. The run continues.
But honestly, Badstuber and Boateng...well...Germany must find better solutions. We may compare the current midfield with the one of the 1990's, but their defensive selection is more then just bad. This Euro was nothing but a complete failure for our team. They couldn't live to expectations and they rightfully lost this game against Italy. They were afraid, played inaccurate passes and didn't fight against the imminent defeat. Plus, Löw made some inexcusable mistake. Instead of letting our team play their own game he tried to adjust our style on Italy. That along with his unshakeable loyalty towards out of form palyers such as Schweinsteiger, Özil and Podolski freed us from any chance to win. Now Italy, please beat Spain.

C'mon..surely not a complete failure. Semi finals is very good for what is still the youngest team in the tournament.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jun 29 2012, 05:36 PM) I thought Ozil was the only one to make things happen last night (I know you weren't just talking about last nights game though), but Podolski has been completely annonymous all tournement. Don't understand bringing Gomez off at half time though. Özil couldn't do anything. Only Khedira really tried, while everyone else fell into agony. QUOTE (Jack Sparrow @ Jun 29 2012, 05:37 PM) C'mon..surely not a complete failure. Semi finals is very good for what is still the youngest team in the tournament. It's a complete failure because we didn't achieve our goal, which was to finally win something after a streak of 16 years without any silverware. We weren't even close. Maybe this generation of German players is destined to become a Portugalesque "Golden generation" like Figo and Rui Costa. Schweinsteiger, Lahm and everyone else couldn't withstand the pressure of being favorites.
