Watching inter vs. Fiorentina, and my oh my how good inter are.

The derby is almost here and Im dreading this match up.

Milan have reinforced well but inter have also added further to a very competitive team.

Newcastle losing 3-0 to Brighton.

Tell me again they're the best team in the group.

EPL hype machine is insane

Guess you don't realise how good Brighton are, huh?

Really? Newcastle?

They're good. But PSG have difference makers.

See this is how silly your post is. You just acknowledged Newcastle are good, then one post later change your mind!

QUOTE
They might not be a proper side, but getting rid of some of the egos this summer could go a long way for them. Plus Enrique is a great coach.

Nah, they suck in the UCL, and Enrique peaked at Barca.

QUOTE
Dortmund have started off badly but they're a good side.

So you defend Dortmund as great despite a bad start in the league but Newcastle are garbage under the same circumstances?

QUOTE
Out of all the Italian sides, we got the sh!tty draw. Which p!sses me off because Lazio were in the same pot and they got the easiest group you could get and you know Sarri is going to punt it anyway.

We're the best team in our group. I'm not worried.

Yeah. I saw Newcastle against Liverpool. Liverpool were one goal down and one man down for most of the match, yet they managed to win it in the end.

Newcastle lack experience and proper quality. They're by far the worst team in the group, in my humble opinion.

PS: Chelsea lost 1-0 to Forrest. What a joke. How to spend one billion and still be utter garbage. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Agreed. They've got Botman, Sandro, Isak and Bruno who I consider to by very good players. The rest are just good to decent players. Maybe Gordon, he looks good.

Inter for me are the best side in the league.

Inzaghi has really turned them into a well oiled machine that plays beautiful football imo. For me, they are our biggest test during this run of 10 unholy league games that we were given to start with. If we get through this with a win or draw, I think we'll sail through the rest of the games.

We do have some nightmare fixtures though, Juve-PSG-Napoli within the space of 6 days I think. Just hellish

September, October and November are going to be really tough months.

QUOTE (Danny @ Sep 3 2023, 09:19 PM) *
Guess you don't realise how good Brighton are, huh?

Brighton are good, but Newcastle have better players imo. Brighton are well coached by De Zerbi, and just like any De Zerbi team, they have one major vulnerability, which is the defense. And not once did NUFC threaten to exploit that

They just have not looked good at all this season imo.

And as a disclaimer since you like to jump on my quotes and run with them. This is not me saying they are rubbish. FFS, you're the one implying I said this, where in no circumstances do I think this. I said they are good, you said they're the best team in our CL group which had me like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/freak.gif)

What I said was, they are good, but by no means the best in the group and that the EPL hype is unreal.

QUOTE (Danny @ Sep 3 2023, 09:22 PM) *

But where did I change my mind?

They are good, but not the best side in the group. For me, PSG are still clear in terms of quality. We come after them. Newcastle and Dortmund I would put at similar level, but I don't watch much Bundesliga so I can't say more than that.

QUOTE (Danny @ Sep 3 2023, 09:22 PM) *

They're always solid in the groups. For me, they're our toughest match-ups.

And while I agree about Enrique, it still does not negate the fact that he's a good coach. I'd bite your arm off to have him at Milan

QUOTE (Danny @ Sep 3 2023, 09:22 PM) *

Again, never said Dortmund are "great". Stop twisting what I say. I said they're a good side as well, just like I what I said about NUFC. Which is basically what I said in my initial post that they are on par in terms of difficulty for us imo. Both have good squads, both have started badly.

Giroud injured with France. F@ck this international break at the worst possible moment in the season

When are they going to stop this round being played now?

And f@ck Deschamps for playing 37 year-old Giroud as well. France are so stacked yet he plays Oli of all people!

Apparently it's nothing serious and he should be available for the derby.

But this is something we have to live with. Giroud is 37, we can't expect him to play all games.

Of course not, but we should be able to rotate him on our terms, not because he's being needlessly over-used by hit NT, who have the deepest talent pool in the world might I add

inter have a squad core that remained intact for several seasons. They have bolstered their ranks with both experience and flair.

Milan on the other hand have made a very courageous decision to shuffle the core and focus on attack. I know the team is more entertaining now, but in Serie A that counts for nothing if your defence is minced meat.

Again I'm dredding this fixture, not sure what to expect or not to expect at all. Good riddance! This feeling sucks

I'd argue their window looks much like ours in 2017 - when we just signed random players and it made no sense. I'm not worried about Inter yet by any means. They impress me no more than Napoli did last season. Most overrated team in Europe put thoroughly in their place in the UCL by ourselves. Time will tell if Inter are the same.

Agree the defence is not good enough. I'd infinitely prefer Kjaer and Tomori with Theo and 'an other' RB. But we're stuck with Calabria, Thiaow and Kalulu, none of whom I like. It's patchwork and I've said already, better teams than Bologna etc will punish us if we drop our level. But that's what the manager picks, although not sure if I'm alone in wanting the defence I suggested?

Darmian de Vrig and Bastoni is a better defence than we seem to want to have, but we have a better attack as you say.

It's an interesting match up.
