Milan rubbish Kaka talkMilan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has quashed rumours suggesting Kaka might join Real Madrid. “I am sure he will honour his contract,†he noted.
The Brazilian has again been associated with a move to the Spanish giants who are allegedly ready to offer him a multi-million pound seven-year contract at the end of this season.
“Real President Ramon Calderon didn’t say anything, these things are only written by the newspapers,†said Galliani during Milan’s Christmas party.
“Kaka’s contract expires in 2011 and I am sure he will honour it by staying here.
“Chelsea wanted Andriy Shevchenko, they say Real Madrid want Kaka, now I guess that we will also look for some new players to sign,†added the Rossonero.
“This year was generally a positive one. We arrived second in the championship, reached the semi-final of the Champions League and have now qualified for the last 16.â€
The former Lega Calcio chief then moved on to confirm this season’s main objective, which remains fourth spot in the table – currently 10 points away.
“We want to progress as much as possible in the Champions League and qualify for next year’s tournament,†he added.
“We know that will not be easy, but I am sure we can achieve this result.â€
President Silvio Berlusconi also insisted that Kaka is not for sale and said the latest rumours do not worry him at all.
“We are not tempted to sell Kaka, just as we were not tempted by the impressive offer presented by Chelsea for Shevchenko,†explained the former Prime Minister.
“In that case, however, we were forced to accept the player’s decision, which on the other hand did not only depend on his will.
“I am not worried by Calderon nor by Kaka, in my heart I am sure that he will stay at Milan.â€
