Real Madrid have not ruled out the idea of signing Milan ace Kaka and might take advantage of the San Siro outfit’s crisis.
The attacking midfielder was at the centre of a transfer battle between the two clubs in the summer, but the Spanish giants have never given up on the idea of seeing the Brazilian at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real chief Ramon Calderon made a promise that he would sign Kaka during the campaign preceding his election in June and Los Merengues may now renew their attempt.
Reports in Spain suggest that the player’s father and agent Bosco Leite has been in contact with club officials Franco Baldini and Predrag Mijatovic, who hope that Milan’s crisis will somehow facilitate the operation.
According to AS.com, Kaka has allegedly told Vice-President Adriano Galliani that he would not be glad to stay if the side failed to qualify for the next Champions League, an objective which is currently 10 points away.
The conversations between the two parties ‘could not have led to better results’ reports the website and Mijatovic is confident of a positive outcome on the issue.
“We said we would move to bring Kaka here and that is what we will do,†declared the former Fiorentina striker.
In the meantime, Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi dismissed the latest rumours suggesting that Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s job was in peril.
“Personally, I have great trust in the tactician and the work that the entire club is doing,†said Berlusconi.
“Milan have a very strong side, but unfortunately now must count many injured players, it is normal that there are some problems.
“In any case, I do not think that the squad will be increased with new signings. Andriy Shevchenko? I consider this a closed argument, an issue that we must turn our back on,†concluded the former Prime Minister.
