Wow, some dweeb actually had a Madrid shirt made up with his name? Reminds me of the schmuck who was pictured wearing a C. Ronaldo Man City jersey in the stands during a game over a month ago.

You definitely don't see that out here; it'd be like putting Tim Duncan on a Lakers jersey.

It is pretty stupid. Although, I do find there's less of a 'support your local team' attitude in the US. When I was in NY a few months ago, I saw jerseys of every kind, it was crazy.

Florentino Perez: Kaka Was Born To Play For Real Madrid

s the Kaka saga looks set to reach boiling point in the next few days, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was like a child waiting for his birthday as he expressed his obvious excitement ahead the Monday press conference.

Speaking in an interview on the Punto pelota show, Perez declared, “Kaka is one of those players that was born to play for Real Madrid. In some ways he reminds me of Zidane in that respect.”

In reference to the news that Kaka had earlier signed a replica Real Madrid shirt for a fan in Brazil, Perez added:

“Has he signed already? I am extremely excited to see what could happen on Monday.”

Kaka's current club, AC Milan, have insisted that any move to the Spanish giants will happen only if the player himself wants it to.

One way or another, the Brazilian will let the world, and the excited Mr Perez, know on Monday.

Why doesn't Silvio sell the club ? I have no idea other than his affection towards it. An Arab, Russian, Persian .. They are better off buying into an EPL club than an Italian. (In fact, I read this editorial once about Sheikh Mansour's acquisition of City, he was interested in Roma, but after doing a feasibility study they backed off)

It might be nice farytail if we accepted arabian offer. On Manday we might say 'Kaka is not for sale'. But Berlu is too proud and too foolish to accept this offer....(((

It’s D-Day as Milan hold a summit to decide whether they’ll sell Kaka to Real Madrid, but the player is keeping quiet.

"I will speak about my future soon," Kaka told the media in Uruguay, where Brazil won a World Cup qualifier 4-0.

"At the right moment I will speak about it."

Patron Silvio Berlusconi announced this week that a meeting would be held on Sunday to reach a conclusion.

He will get together with general manager Adriano Galliani and new Coach Leonardo to decide whether or not to accept a £64m offer from Real Madrid.

“On Sunday we will have a meeting to discuss transfer policy and in that arena we will decide Ricky’s future,” explained Berlusconi on Milan Channel.

“We will see what happens then, but the situation is not to be taken for granted. Kaka might not necessarily leave.”

An announcement is not expected until Monday morning, but details could leak out later this evening.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is hopeful of a successful conclusion, but admits to some nerves.

“Kaka is one of those players who was born to play for Real Madrid,” Perez told Spanish television programme Punto Pelota.

“In many things he reminds me of [Zinedine] Zidane. Has Kaka already signed? I am anxiously awaiting what could happen on Monday.”

I thought the meeting was gonna be held on Monday. if it's today then we will most certainly know the decision by tonight, and it's obvious what it's gonna be...
