I obviously want Borriello to start... But there is too much "affection" for Ronaldinho, especially after his derby goal, to leave him on the bench.

The Christmas tree formation produced a great victory over United a few years ago, with Seedorf impressing both home and away. Why are you so against it?

Granted, I agree that at home we need to attack attack attack

Because the formation with the 2 defensive mids is useless against teams that will put 11 men behind the ball. It's always the same thing. Like walking into a brick wall and being unable to score.

Hopefully when Pirlo comes back we can also ditch one of the defensive mids and go back to our old system that always worked.

Against big teams it's a really great system, and gives us the upper hand in the midfield battle but against teams that defend constantly it just does not work

Of course there are a couple of games in which the Christmas tree worked just fine. problem is there are A LOT of games in which the Christmas tree failed badly! mostly our league games over the past two seasons where, for whatever reason, we used to play most of our games with 1 striker. I think it's more than proved that this system doesn't work against the majority of Serie A sides. Carlo used this system against Inter, right decision, but we should've switched back to 4-3-1-2 for Cagliari game. in the CL, however, it's different story since there are mostly big sides and the games are held over two legs [I'm talking about the knockout stages. group stages are a joke for a team like Milan anyways]. Christmas tree could work there. that's why, IMO, Carlo is a CL type coach, not a league type coach.

I think Borriello will start as long as he's fit, Carlo knows his importance. Either Pato or Ronaldinho will start alongside him. Maybe Ronnie will get the nod since he didn't play qualifiers like Pato/Kaka did.

TIRANA-MILAN: 27 ROSSONERI CALLED UP
10/13/2008
MILANELLO - Coach Carlo Ancelotti has called up 27 players for the away game in Tirana tomorrow:
GOALKEEPERS: Abbiati, Dida, Kalac;
DEFENDERS: Maldini, Kaladze, Nesta, Favalli, Senderos, Darmian, Pasini, Antonini, Colombo (59), Meregalli (61);
MIDFIELDERS: Emerson, Cardacio, Pirlo, Ambrosini, Flamini, Gianola (52);
STRIKERS: Inzaghi, Seedorf, Borriello, Shevchenko, Viudez, Ronaldinho, Angelilli (57), Scapuzzi (62).

What? Pirlo called up? Isn't he still injured?

I would like to see lineup in the friendly:

Dida
Darmian Nesta Senderos Antonini
Flamini Emerson Cardacio
Seedorf
Inzaghi Shevchenko

I'm not fighting it. I'm just giving it time to recharge. I want us to bench that useless Kaka against Sampdoria. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
