QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Feb 20 2007, 05:19 PM)
Well Amelia should accept such an offer. I think he isn` the right one for now to take full responsibility. I mean, he can take the responsibilty of Livorno and their season goals, but with Milan...well, let us say with great power comes greater responsibility. Sure, I would tip him to be Milan keeper No.1 in 07/08 if we would have a bench keeper like Abbiati who could allways jump in an make some solid matches. But with Kalac and Storari we have to "relegation-class" keepers, and can`t take the risk of an unsure keeper. And Amelia is sure a future potential, but he is still green... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Bonera? I saw him against Siena. I suppose, I missed some matches last month, but hey, that where clashes against mid-teams. For the real games, CL final stages and scudetto runs, we can`t rely on him...For me, he is somewhere between Å imić and Kaladze (who is above Dario, but still). To say it simple, he is not a "champion material". Not even near to Billy, Paolo or Jaap, the players who took the big matches besides Nesta all these years.

As for the strikers. Course I don`t think we should by all of them! I would be mad (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)   (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ...But I don`t think Ronaldo is  equal to Sheva. Sure, he was equal, for moments even bigger. But now? I don`t think so..
*

Agreed on the keeper issue. But still don't think Amelia would settle for the bench.

As for Bonera, it wasn't his fault against Siena, in fact he was the only good defender. But I have seen him do some great tackles in these last few matches plus his positioning is always great unlike Kaladze.

On the R9 Sheva thing:

Have you seen Sheva play recently? Right now R9 is far better then Sheva, and imo him and the Milan Sheva are equals. This is the guy that was scoring non stop for Real even with that circus of a team they had, Sheva was getting service from Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka, now look at him in Chelsea without these guys behind him.

Right now its:

Seva < Ronaldo

Before it was:

Sheva = Ronaldo

It`s not just the mid-players at Chelsea...I said this a year ago, when we all commented the Abramovich-Sheva move (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) . Sheva is just not English league/football material! Put Ronaldo up there, and the same would happen with him..English football manages to destroy such players, allways finds thier worst, like in Veron, Crespo,...

Gila-Buffon swap suggested
Wednesday 21 February, 2007

Alberto Gilardino may join Juventus over the summer in a deal which sees Gigi Buffon move to Milan.

Both players have been linked with the aforementioned clubs in the past and some reports in Italy on Wednesday claim that a switch may finally occur.

The Bianconeri are looking for a David Trezeguet replacement, who seems set to leave at the end of the season, and have allegedly targeted the Rossoneri striker.

Although is seems unlikely that Milan would allow the 24-year-old to leave, their stance may change if Buffon was made available for transfer.

Both players are valued at something around £21m and the clubs are seemingly considering a swap deal.

Buffon would be of interest to Milan seeing as Nelson Dida is unlikely to extend his contract which expires in June.

The Brazilian, in turn, could then move to Turin on a free transfer should the Azzurri No 1 accept a San Siro future.

Buffon was paired with Milan last summer, but he opted to remain with La Vecchia Signora despite their Calciopoli relegation to Serie B.

The former Parma man has recently reiterated that he is unsure about his future and will start talks with the club in an effort to understand Juve’s plans for next season and beyond.

Meanwhile, whispers are also suggesting that the Milan giants are interested in Mauro Camoranesi, who is valued at £4.2m. He turned down a Juventus contract extension yesterday.

Anyday! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

And bring a true Milan-quality forward on the team too. Milan can't wait for Gila to mature enough so as to score goals before Christmas time. Not anymore, he had his chance!! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

He's had his days but he's not a man we can rely on and Milan, as any great team, do need such a man!!

We've already signed Zebina as Cafu's substitute and I don't see our board spending more cash on a third RB. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

we can use him as a left back, I believe that is his natural position. i like janku, and want him to do well but i'm afraid besides the odd goal he isnt providing good enough crosses which is more important. ya every so often he'll send in a great cross but i find he isnt consistent enough. anyways we'll know better at the end of the season. but honestly does anyone see serginho in the picture? i think it's a dangerous idea to rely on a guy of his age for speed and width on the left flank. don't get me wrong he's been a great player for us but i think he's time is up. So this should open the door for someone new that can play as our LB. maybe zambrotta?

Yep. I would rather pick a young goalie then switch my lovely Gila for Buffon. You can hate how much you want, he's going nowhere, beat it! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

I'd expect something along the lines of Abbiati+ cash for Buffon. I like Abbiati a lot, but then I suppose if Dida is leaving, it's worth it.

Buffon is still a dream, letting Gila go is out of the question, we spent too much money on him to give up on him now and he is younger then Buffon.

And if Silvio decides to stick to his plans and go full force for R10 then Buffon won't even get a sniff in.
