This is clearly an unsettling period of transition for Milan, one which has been underway for a long time. We just never seem to look like having extended periods of organisation and discipline, whether it was the end of Carlo's reign, most of Leo's, or this Allegri era.
The balance has not been right for a long time, and even signing a host of decent new players, including one or two real heavyweights, hasn't made much difference.
This game in particularly hugely doused the belief we can win the league. It is early days and all can change, and often does, but while Leo's Milan start was just poor, I cannot quite put my finger on what is wrong with Allegri's.

Let's look at it from the logical angle here. We had and still have an overwhelming schedule to play, the team hasn't really had time to train and prepare before the real deal happened. 2 new players come in, NT break, 1 day training we face Cesena, then the schedule is simply unrelenting.
What is really unfair is that we played on Wednesday in the CL and had to play Serie A today, while Inter played CL on Tuesday and play Serie A tomorrow, that's 2 full days more to prepare!

My only gripe is that he let Bonera stay on, I think they're sill being cautious with Zambro which would be the only logical explenation as to why Bonera started

QUOTE (Danny @ Sep 18 2010, 09:46 PM) This is clearly an unsettling period of transition for Milan, one which has been underway for a long time. It is early days and all can change, and often does, but while Leo's Milan start was just poor, I cannot quite put my finger on what is wrong with Allegri's. One word - slow! Our counter attacks are awful because we get so far then have to turn back because there is either no-one capable of running with the ball, or no-one capable of getting ahead of the player with the ball. Meanwhile Catania looked dangerous each time they countered... Another thing I've noticed with Allegri's Milan is how exposed we look when attacking. If our attack breaks down our players seem slow to react/get back and too many times we are left 3 or 4 on 1 and luckily we haven't conceded yet but it surely can't be long before we do. I think Allegri needs to sort his system out and get the players playing it before it's too late.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Sep 18 2010, 09:50 PM) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Little dissapointed but its expected. Allegri's work won't be shown until november. You guys can jump up and down all day and say he's either brilliant or an idiot but it won't matter. This is still leo's team. Allegri is not a wizard, he's not going to pop in and change the team in a month. Its going to take time and he will make some mistakes to see what works and doesn't. He's our best option right now; hiddink level coaches are not realistic. tbh, the right coach can make a team great overnight. I've seen it happen time and time again. This is not me saying Allegri sucks, but generally I find the start a manager makes, by and large, reflects the chances of success for the rest of their time. If they start well over the first month or so, you can probably assume overall they'll be a success. If their first month is poor, overall they'll probably fail.
