Beckham was voted the Best Male Athlete at last night's Teen Choice Awards. That's pretty sad.

QUOTE
Ancelotti admires Beckham

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he is one of England star David Beckham's biggest fans.

Chelsea's former Milan boss coached the La Galaxy midfielder while he was on loan with the Rossoneri in 2009.

“I love the company of David Beckham," said Ancelotti. “One evening, while he was playing for AC Milan, I invited him to dinner in a restaurant in Parma.

“He refused to leave the restaurant. I kept insisting and he kept pleading with me, 'Please, one more course.'

“At one point I considered calling the police, handcuffs would have stopped him from cramming any more tortellini into his mouth.

“In the end, I managed to convince him with these words: 'Look, David, if we don't leave this restaurant, I'm going to arrange another Spice Girls reunion tour.'

“Fourteen seconds later we were back in the car, hurtling back toward Milan.

“I expected to be dealing with a movie star homesick for Los Angeles.

“But I was wrong. He's an impeccable professional and an almost excessively well-mannered gentleman.”

Yeah well done Becks! No-one can doubt this guys effort, work-rate etc. He's not a Prima donna like a lot of the big names are nowadays, particularly the young lads. I think ever since 98 he's felt he's had something to make up for and he's certainly done that for clubs and country.

True enough, what he lacked in talent, he more than makes it up with hard work and work-rate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) And pixie dust for some extra magic every now and then! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I don't think he'll return, but it was fun while it lasted!

Beckham is a great guy. Just hearing his interviews and listening to what his teammates say about him is enough.

Why don't we move this one to the past players? Or is anyone expecting a third comeback? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)
