@Ash, I hear you mate ... You win, you loose, it doesn't really change much in your household. Football, has lost its flavor to me. Other sports such as UFC and Tennis to an extent have taken me on board instead.
Football will always be football, just that as you grow-up you start noticing that the players you loved and had grown-up admiring have either retired or start getting boos because they are too old. I don't know these players, and I don't feel the strength of tradition anymore.
Agreed mate.

If football bores you all so much, why do you spend so much time following it, chatting about it in forums, etc.? give it up and go follow what really excites you. you don't have to enjoy football nor do you have to leave a bitter taste in other people's mouth with your elegies on how dead football is day in day out.
Nah, I never used the word boring, I was just trying to get at how it's lost it's edge to me, that's all, I blatantly made clear that it was just opinion, I'm glad if others still love it don't get me wrong. In all honesty I'm a bit like Kurt, I tend to not talk about football on here much these days, aside when tournaments come around, Europe hots up and Kurt wants another talk about how Villa are getting screwed 24/7 (IMG:

Don't get me wrong I still enjoy football, if I didn't I wouldn't give 2 fu**s about it at all. Just if I look back a few years about how in love I was with the sport, wouldn't miss a game etc it's not the same anymore, to me. Doesn't mean I dislike it!

I'm with you on this. I wouldn't say I'm bored with it, but I find it hard to get excited. Of course when the EPL season s about to start I will be, but give it 6 or 7 games and it'll just bore me again when everyone gets into their usual positions. Football is too predictable nowadays. You could probably pick 2 teams in the top 7 leagues in Europe and 1 of the 2 will win it in at least 5 of them. If you pick 2 teams in NHL/NFL/MLB/NBA, chances are you might get 1, maybe.
Not to speak for Ash, but he already has followed up what he enjoys and he's doing a damn good job of it. I know it wasn't aimed at me, but as someone who's losing touch in football a little, the reason I stay here is because I like the people. The football is secondary.
Exactly, that's probably it too, the same old thing year-in, year-out with the odd transfer thrown in and I guess after 14/15+ years of actively following it, it's got a bit samey to an extent.
Yeah, exactly I have other big passions (arguably bigger than football now) and have followed those up. Though I still come here because it's Milanfan, it's grown up with me for the past 7 odd years... or vice-versa (IMG:

I just think football is not improving in any way. Not quality-wise, not officiating-wise not anything. I think the reason we've turned to other sports is simply the entertainment factor and the fact that we feel they (i'm talking about US sports) are really trying to improve their product.
Yep, again another good point. Think the thing that gets me, certainly in NHL, NFL & NBA is the parity, sure you get big dynasty's for a few years but you know within 5-10 years they're going to be right in the scrapheap again. That's a bit lost in football.
Though without bringing the whole thing down again I am looking forward to the next 2 games tonight & tomorrow, even if Spain are involved (IMG:
