He made a mistake in the other game which I personally did not witness, but so did Barzagli, so did DS today, are we going to see Chiellini at LB now because of DS's mistake?

SES needs to get in there.

Starting with a xmas tree formation is just baffling when you have no natural no. 10s on your side aside from Giovinco

He should have gone for the more natural 4-3-1-2 and pushed Monto further up, this Giaccherini business is seriously p!ssing me off.

Prandelli is really working hard at putting me off him, his decision making is scarily reminiscent of Alleri's

Monto isn't a natural AM either. I think they should go for 4-3-3 with SES, Balo and Giovinco.

But he's played very well there in the past with Italy

And since we're getting into technicalities, neither SES, nor Giovinco are natural winger either, so you'd have to choose the lesser of 2 evils in this case and imo Italy are not built to play a wide formation since the only wingers then have are mediocre ones

Lol, Japan basically scored that all on their own, first it was kept in by the Japan player for Giaccerini then an OG.

Aside from that corner delivery, Pirlo has been terrible today. Great tackle from Abate to clear up from his mistake

I thought he had a decent game against Brazil as well. Nothing special, but glimpses of skill.

Yes, but while they have good attacking players they really lack quality defenders.

Italy are very lucky to win this. Apart from 15 min in the end of the first half and and 15 minutes at the beginning of the second half, they were totally outplayed by Japan who could score few more goals easily.

Yep. Italy with a lucky win. Hopefully that means SES will get a chance against Brazil.

But overall not a good match for Milan players. DS wasn't good, same goes to Montolivo. He simply has to offer more. More involvement in attacking. Even Marchisio did more.

If he didn't gave him any playing time at all in the first two games, I really doubt he's gonna do it vs Brazil.

Agreed, but as an Italy fan, I think we put in a good fight as well.

A tie would have been the fairest result, but a win for either side isn't completely undeserved either in my opinion.

Anyway...

Italy must improve if they hope to get anything against Brazil that's for damn sure.
