QUOTE “Cassano is a lovable character, but sometimes the valve blows and he loses control. Hopefully that won’t happen again.” How many times has been said over and over again in the past? Cassano is a scumbag, he'll never stop acting like one. QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Mar 7 2013, 03:00 PM) Hmm, it's tough. I think as a straight swap it's a no brainer that Pazzini, all things considered, is superior. He's more likely to accept a lesser role, he finds the back of the net more and as far as I know he's never really been a trouble maker. Cassano on the ball can be a genius, but he does cause problems.
Is it worth a 7m difference? I'm not sure. At the start of the season I'd have said no, but now it's starting to look more and more like a good deal. *waiting for han to flip out*

No need to flip out
Just using your head and simply weighing the quality each player has, not only that but also taking into consideration the type of players we seriously lack and desperately need in this team, then no way was it a good deal for us.
People are only saying this now because of the Cassano blow up moment.
But the facts are what they are, Cassano never once had any sort of problems with us, Allegri reiterated this by saying that he himself has nothing to complain about when it comes to Cassano as he's always behaved well at Milan. Simple as that.
A straight swap is the only scenario where in hindsight you can say it was a good deal, even if Cassano is a better player, his behavioural issues and physical issues would have made the straight swap a very good deal for us looking back on it now.

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Mar 8 2013, 09:49 AM) Say what now? Throwing a fit like a 4 year old and acting completely unprofessional until you are sold is big enough a problem. I still remember how he was pouting in the pre-season games. Great gesture too for a team already depleted in morale and a state of shock. He left us high and dry abandoning ship when we needed him the most. Now he is sulking at inter while we have pulled our selves up like champions.
So even if I have said it before, I'll say it again. F@ck him. "Him" the person is not the issue. You're missing the point of the argument. Allegri himself said that Cassano never created internal troubles, him wanting to jump ship is an entirely different thing. I'm saying that by simply weighing the quality of the 2 players then we got the shorter end of the stick. Plain and simple. Just swapping them would have at least made sense considering Cassano's issues, but giving them 7m when in reality Cassano is the one worth more money is just terrible business from Galliani.

There's no way unwanted Pazzini, who I think was not even a regular and rarely scored in Serie A was worth Cassano + 7m... how can anyone really argue with that?

QUOTE (han2503 @ Mar 8 2013, 02:19 PM) "Him" the person is not the issue. What? QUOTE You're missing the point of the argument. Allegri himself said that Cassano never created internal troubles, him wanting to jump ship is an entirely different thing. How is that different because it occurred in a different time? What he did was OF COURSE causing internal problems. Galliani even said something along the line of 'Cassano wouldn't shut up until we sold him and had started to bug everyone with it'. I don't give any weight to your argument here. QUOTE I'm saying that by simply weighing the quality of the 2 players then we got the shorter end of the stick. Plain and simple. Just swapping them would have at least made sense considering Cassano's issues, but giving them 7m when in reality Cassano is the one worth more money is just terrible business from Galliani. This is not what I was discussing. And even though Cassano the player is better than most Italian attackers when he feels like it, he also comes with huge risks. So far though, Pazzini has been the more effective player this season. Today is a shining example.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Mar 8 2013, 07:40 PM) I'm not saying it was a good move financially, but then I think about who we got rid of and I'm like, "who cares about the money!" No I'm with you on that, I'd rather have Pazzini than the time bomb that is Cassano.
