Apparently Pato has accepted Corinthians as his possible destination and we're very interested in closing the deal for €13 million + €2 million of bonuses.

Sources: Mediaset, TMW

Bye-bye Patinho?

I've read on a Milan group (fb) that the 15 mil is for 50% is this true?

Nope, I believe it's €13 million for his full purchase and €2 million of bonuses related to trophies, goals etc.

15m? Shocking management from this club. For a team who seem obsessed with money, they've basically just burned 20m by not selling Pato at the right time.

Well, if we are willing to sell him for only €15 million to Corinthians, it means two things: 1) no other club is interested in him, 2) his injury crisis probably has no solution. Otherwise, I don't think we'd have given up on him so easily.

But yeah, not selling him for €35 million in January was probably the dumbest decision Berlusconi has ever taken since he took over this club 26 years ago. And I know Zed will tell me that I sound like a broken record again, but it's just that damn irritating!

If we do sell him for that kind of money then that's the biggest jump over the gun I've ever seen. At least loan him for the rest of the season. See how he does with another team and most importantly, different medical personnel.

It's just sheer idiocy to sell him now

Pato's burned, nothing can be done about him. He'll spend the rest of his career in Brazil, or maybe sign for some mid-level Spanish club like Betis. He'll be Ricardo Oliveira/Rafael Sóbis level at best.

...

Or maybe we won't sell him at all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I don't believe that. Those players were always medciore at best. Pato has the potential and talent to be great. His body has given up on him right now, but if he can manage to recover from that he can still be great. Which is why giving up on him now is the stupidest decision ever. Whcih yes, makes me wish that we had cashed in last season if it's going to come down to this

QUOTE
Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore has surprisingly stated that he one day expects to play for Italian giants Milan.

While he recently rejected January links with both Milan sides, the Argentine has left the doors wide open for a Diavolo switch at some point in the future.

“Sooner or later I will play in the Rossoneri shirt,” he told Italian magazine Chi in an interview. “I’m sure of that.

“I have a splendid rapport with Vice-President Adriano Galliani and director general Ariedo Braida. I often dine with them, away from prying eyes, when I’m in Milan.

“I miss Italy and I love your country, while Milan are magic. First I want to win with PSG, but after that I will wear the Milan shirt.”

The creative midfielder, who left Palermo in August 2011 for Paris Saint-Germain at a cost of €43m, has had his form problems in the French capital this season.

You're comparing a true world class striker with one-hit wonders who were hyped and nothing more. It's not just unfair, it's also wrong. I don't think we can foresee what will happen. It's easy to make such predictions now that everything seems so somber and grim.

Good to know. For all I know, Pastore can turn out to be very good.

I'm not comparing their talents, I'm comparing their paths. I just don't see Pato living up to his talent anymore. His body has given up on him. Stuff like that has made champions like Ronaldo spend half of his career on the sidelines or in van Basten's case, quit football.

I though you didn't rate him very highly a couple of years ago. Or maybe I'm just imagining stuff.

People used to rocket him sky high; sure, he was decent back then and now he's pretty good. Still not exactly brilliant, but with our situation he'd do nothing but good.
