@dst: Your comment about FFP not affecting how you run the company would be true anywhere except in Italy. Typically in Italy, the football clubs have been 'patronised' not 'operated'. Similar to how the kings of old would bankroll musicians to produce operas for them etc. It wasn't an investment with the expectation of return...just an expensive pursuit.

Milan were the same. We've always been making losses if thought of as a company. In fact if we were a 'proper' company we would have run to the ground by now. We make losses, Silvio/Finninvest covers them. For 26 years it's how we were run, it's how we were run when we won everything. Now we need to change and start again.

I don't believe that we've had major losses. Maybe Milan was not bringing in profit for Berlusconi but he is first and foremost a businessman and there's no way I'm going to believe he's been holding on for so long to a company that's making him lose big money year after year. Even if he's the biggest Milan fan on Earth there's a limit to how big of a loss is acceptable and I think it was not all that big.

In a way I'm okay with this. I get to brag about how I love the jersey and not the cups we won. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) And you who became a fan after watching us get demolished 7-1 know exactly what I'm talking about. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

How do you remember that? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Does rum help your memory?

edit: by the way, this makes you an obscurity hunter! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri allegedly threatened to resign over his club’s bid to net Ze Eduardo from Genoa, reports La Repubblica.

The Rossoneri had agreed a deal with the Stadio Ferraris outfit for the Brazilian, but without the consent of Allegri.

The move subsequently collapsed after the former Cagliari tactician made it clear that he did not want the forward in his squad.

It’s not the first sign of tension between Coach and the club this summer given that Allegri was criticised by Adriano Galliani recently.

The Vice-President was left furious with Allegri after the Diavolo lost a pre-season friendly to Real Madrid in spectacular fashion – losing 5-1 in the process.

Allegri has been deprived of some key personnel in this window after a host of veterans left at the end of their contracts, while Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were sold to Paris Saint-Germain.

It is also claimed that Allegri has asked for a defensive midfielder before the window closes, but Galliani has his eyes on a more attacking player instead.

Real Madrid’s Ricky Kaka is still on their radar with a possible final decision over that move to be made on Wednesday.

It makes me a masochist. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

I think the major losses really started over the last decade, once the economy got shot, I don't think Finninvest was making the kind of money it used to anymore.

Also, transfer fees exploded only then. That's when we suddenly had to plunge out way too much money just to stay at the same level we were at. The whole scale of what constituted 'big spending' in world football was altered first by Chelsea, then by Man City and now by PSG.

And now we have reached the limit to the losses he can tolerate I imagine.

Silvio by himself couldn't compete I guess. Of course I understand if there's a sale happening, it would be secret. Even the new buyers would want to be kept secret.

I'm sure that we need outside investment to progress. And I also believe something is definitely afoot.

Oh btw...Soldier Spy, I was referring to your military service, when you weren't on here much.

I'm not surprised if Allegri does feel that way. This could turn out to be the worst transfer window for Milan I've witnessed since the past decade. I mean Ze Eduardo? Really??

After Caen accepted Milan's offer, they'll have to negotiate now with Niang's parents, because he's still under age. [RMC Sport]

El Kaddouri is set to join Napoli on co-ownership. They will pay €2m for half of his card.
Milan wanted Genoa to buy El Kaddouri and Sent him on Co-Ownership in January.Genoa's coach did not want him and the deal fell through.

Mancini: "Inter asked for De Jong? I don't think Inter want Nigel. He'll stay here. Dzeko? We received no offers for him."

According to MilanNews, Madrid have still to pay us €8 million from the famous €65 million they used to purchase Kaká in 2009. Our offer to Madrid is a free loan with obligation of purchase for about €8-10 million. Also, if Kaká was to come on a free loan, his wage on the club's balance sheet for the year 2012 would weigh for only six months, as opposed to free loans coming from within Italy. For example, Constant is entirely put in our balance sheet for the year 2012, (purchase fee + wage), whilst Kaká would only be put for his gross wage for the second half of 2012.

Hope that made any sense. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Niang's Ever ready: Toffees agree a deal for Arsenal-target striker

Italian giants AC Milan were also in for the teenage Caen forward but he's bound for Goodison Park after Moyes has a bid accepted

Boy in blue: Teenager Niang is set to sign for Everton

Everton boss David Moyes has won the signing race for French sensation M'Baye Niang - after agreeing a £2million-plus deal with Caen.

Moyes beat Arsenal and AC Milan in the chase - Manchester City and Tottenham were also contenders - and will bring the teenager in this weekend.

Niang spent time at Goodison earlier this month, as revealed by MirrorFootball, and Moyes used his new financial strength following the sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City to make the best offer.

Caen wanted as much money up front as possible and the Toffees have found the funds whereas the Gunners and Milan tried to make the French outfit settle for a small initial fee.

Niang should sort out personal terms quite quickly and seems happy with the deal despite language problems.

The young forward was more keen on becoming part of Arsenal's highly cosmopolitan squad, but has been guided by his father towards the more lucrative Merseyside option.
