AC Milan are reportedly back in the hunt for Chelsea contract rebel William Gallas.
The Sun claims that the Serie A giants have been alerted that the Premiership champions could now be ready to sell the French international, who has told the Blues he will quit on a Bosman free transfer next summer.
Milan have been long-term admirers of Gallas, who infuriated Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho when he failed to return to pre-season training on time. They had a £4million bid rejected earlier this year and also tried to get the former Marseille man included in the deal that took Andriy Shevchenko to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have refused to consider a sale but the recent £6million capture of Dutch international Khalid Boulahrouz could change the situation.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed this week that he has bid for Gallas, who could still be included in a swap-plus-cash deal that would take England ace Ashley Cole to Stamford Bridge.
But Milan also appear to be in the hunt and that could appeal to Mourinho - who would then not be selling a talented defender to a Premiership title rival.
